MN Bog and hesitation, whats wrong here?

1984 GSL-SE 13b. First of the car will bog and not accelerate past about 40% throttle, Up to that point it accelerates as it should. It gets up to any speed as long as you do so by slowly pushing the pedal in. Also after driving for awhile after its reached operating temp it will also cut out like its missing.

This cars previous owner did a number on this car so it could be anything, am I missing something obvious? Any help would be appreciated

Have you tried cleaning/rebuilding the carb? Sounds like the accelerator pump is weak

The grounds are all good. Ignition system is in good shape too so im thinking fuel i cleaned the injectors and replaced the o-rings but it seems like the injectors are bad, is there a good way to check?

welcome to the board.

1. have you changed the filter?
2. have you started checking the sensors (coolant temp, TPS, etc.)?

just happened to be cruising the Gen II forum and came across this, (https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generati...g-out-1081303/), and remembered your thread. might be worth looking into if you did any recent work with the ignition prior to experiencing your issue.

The air filter and fuel filter have been changed very recently. Also it has received a tank cleaning, new strainer and pump. Coolant temp sensor works as it should and I just got done re calibrating the tps which didn't change anything. Thanks for the link, I checked all the wires and fuel pressure is good. I used a spark tester light to check for spark and found that the trailing wires were lighting the tool less then the leading wires did. So ill be ordering a new cap and rotor to rule that out. Any other ideas?

Trailing wires shouldn't affect it as bad as your saying.

Sounds like you ruled out everything but a faulty injector, if you've already gone through and cleaned the whole fuel system, may as well have them cleaned/rebuilt

Are you positive you got all the clips on? They can be buggers at times

the se 13 b has a fuel pump cut out circuit, designed to stop the pump from running
under certain conditions. mount a fuel pressure gauge and volt meter from the pump and take it for a drive and watch these two indicators when you reach the Bog/hesitation point. let me know what you encounter.

Installed new fuel injectors and the car runs better but the problem is worse. I can only use maybe a inch of throttle. I didnt have a way to get fuel pressure while driving but I hooked up a multimeter at the pump and got a steady 11.8v.
