Selling 93 FD

All the small things
Hey guys.
I have a '93 FD and there are a lot of things that I would like to clear up.
First let me tell you that I am a novice and received this car as a gift. I know I should probably not be the one to own this car but I really do love it. Enough of that.
Anyways, I (unfortunately) currently use the car as a daily driver. So I try not to bang it up too bad when driving. I'm trying to get a bike or something but yeah..
There are lots of little things I would like to know about my car and what you guys do to keep your car 'healthy'.
I live in Florida, where it's always hot. So the topic of heat is always on my mind when it comes to my car. I put 20W50 Castrol GTX oil.
After a drive I rev the engine between 2-2.7 RPMs for about 30 seconds.
I usually pop the hood so that it can cool off faster.
Now for problems I need help/clarification on:
There are few times lately (it's happened twice in the past month) that upon turning the car on, a loud pop seems to come out from the exhaust.
There's also things like, when I turn off the car for about an hour because I'm at class and the car stays in the direct afternoon sun, the first time the car turns on it turns off. So starting it again and giving it a wee bit off gas so it can catch keeps it on, however I get fluctuating revving from the engine (without touching anything).
It usually goes between 9-1.4 in fluctuations, then after about 30 seconds (of warming up?) it stables out.
Also yesterday night, which is the second occasion that I heard the pop the car was smelling extraneously gassy than other days.
Another thing, is that my car (compared to other RX7's) neutrals out about 1.4-1.6RPMs instead of 8~.
I'm eventually going to sell it (because i'm moving out of the country), but that's for a later time when I have enough posts to sell on the classifieds.

First, it sounds like the car has some modifications. It helps to list those...if you know what they are, whenever asking for technical help.
Second, for cooling tips and advice, there is ALOT of information available through a search in the 3rd Gen. Section. But even before that, I recommend going to that section and taking a few evenings to read through the FAQ stickys, especially those related to cooling and reliability.
Third, get a copy of the Factory Service Manual, available in those same FAQs. Otherwise, find the rotary specialty shop closest to you in Florida or network with some owners near you for advice.
