90 TurboII ABS false activation

My abs is "false activating" at the pump diagnosis speed ~3.5 mph (start and stop). I've tested continuity through the pins on the connector and that is good. ABS light came on twice and has not come on since. Has anyone had any experience with the abs module malfunctioning, or do the sensors typically go bad? I made an attempt to test my wheel speed sensors but my assistant had a hurt back and didn't know how to use the multimeter on the correct pins etc. Very frustrating.. Any advice or shared experience will be greatly appreciated
Thanks.

try cleaning the sensors and hub rings associated with them.

So I cleaned my hub rings with a wire brush in the drill, they were filthy and had a nice layer of grime on them. Cleaned the sensors very carefully with some light grit sand paper. Went ahead and put new rotors and pads all the way around while I had everything off. So strange thing is now the abs light consistently comes on after going 3.5 mph. I am guessing that since all I have done is clean the rings and sensors, and the symptoms have changed, I should now be looking for a bad sensor. I have read in the forum that folks are testing resistance on the pins of the sensor plugs, but all have been on 3rd gen vehicles. The FSM says nothing about resistance, but only spinning the wheel and testing voltage. My question is... is there a static test for the wheel speed sensors? Any tips are greatly appreciated
