89' rx7 help with headlight motor
I finalllllly found out a day later to pull the retractor fuse...
So my passenger side headlight got stuck...motor is warm and still trying BC it killed my battery >_<.
So now...tomorrow I'm going to take apart the right light assembly.
Any advice on how to check the motor?
Should I remove the light and try to get the motor to go without the light?
No its not the relay wiring or fuses...thing got stuck and I just now figured out how to post...
So yea. That's where I'm at

There is a rubber CAP Under the front of the car(pretty well surrounded around plastic) that 'hides' a **** for allowing to to manually put the headlights up and down.
Use that with the Fuse OUT to see where the linkage is binding.
If the motor is trying them it is still working.
By the way the car is an RX7 not MR2 so toss that link...sort of similar but not close!
ALSO,all threads in the NEW section need to be screened.I am sure you can read this as well as I can read your Multiple submissions.
So please IF you want threads to show up faster do not make the staff read Duplicates of the same subject. You only hinder YOUR thread from showing up faster.

Take the Retractor fuse out. That way your motors have no power and you can't get your fingers caught while examining the linkage.
Using the manual **** will allow the headlight assembly to go up or down(depending on which way you turn the ****).If it binds check to see what it is binding on.
If your light is Burnt out and you want an easy way to take it out and replace it then do this:
Get the light assembly up all the way.
remove the plastic surround to the headlight(phillips screws).I like taking BOTH pieces off,it makes it easier as I find the Big piece like to hang up in the metal.
Take the 2 little phillips screws out of the top of the chrome ring that holds the headlight in/on.
Bend the chrome back enough to get the light out and disconnect the headlight Connector from the light by squeezing the connector..
Put in New light and re-assemble.
NOTE: there is a Factory Service manual that will tell you all of this and it is located at
Foxed.ca .It is Free for the asking and is downloadable.
