12a Square bore carb?

So I'm new to this forum, not really new to Rotary's. But I have never really got to technical with them.
I'm looking to build a 12a bridge port, with a racingbeat square bore intake. Header, electric fan, Gilmer belt drive (you know they sound cool!)
I just want a decent street motor, but what would be the best carb to run?
I was thinking a 500cfm edlebrock thunder seiries would make for easy tuning, and good street manners. Though I mostly see people running holley's over 600cfm.
I should mention I would like to keep the choke on it, and keep it simple.
The motor is going in a 76' Ford Courier.. lol

I would contact Racing Beat and ask them what carb they recommend

They recommend the Holley 465. But it has a shaved choke horn, and I'm not a big fan of that carb.

The holley 465cfm that I had from them had a choke on it.

Oh?
Did it work good??
I just like the Eddy carbs better, was really hoping the 500 had been done before.

I'm still leaning heavy on the Edlebrock 500 AVS thunder.
I found some info on a street ported 12a running one from a different page. He said it ran great right out of the box, but needed some tweaking.
That being said, I was planning on doing a bridge port, and mixing my fuel as well. I have to wonder if it would harm/foul an Edlebrock carb? Or if I would need to do some jetting..
I highly doubt it, but the thought is there.

I'll add that the other option in my head was the FiTech EZ street throttle body EFI setup.
Those are sick!! But the kit is $800. Plus the intake and gaskets, the price starts to add up quickly.
