The guy said the car has a brand new set of factory twins and they look like it. The car has a big front mount and unrestricted exhaust. Should I pull them off to port the wastegate, or sell them and try to find a set of twins that have been rebuilt with a BNR upgrade? After I get it running in stock form I'm going to have to find a way to prevent boost creep before putting miles on it. Don't want to blow it up because it went too lean!
If you have sometime to swing down and take a look that would be great!

Keep the stocks and either port the waste-gate or put a restrictor in the exhaust to keep creep in check. I'd say port if you are keeping the stocks, do the restrictor if you eventually want to sell them and go single. People prefer to by low mile unmodified parts no matter how much of an expert job of porting you do (actually IIRC you don't actually port it, you just cut off a part to let the door/flap open wider).

My daily driver's radiator blew so I've been driving the FD for the week. Getting it up to temp when it's in the 20's is fun. I offset all my green attempts for the year and pollute the neighborhood court in five minutes time. It's snowing right now - some pretty big flakes too. Only supposed to be an inch though...and it doesn't seem to be sticking. A bit nervous for the ride home.
Looking forward to Spring and the Spring Roadie!

I did the math about a week ago, it's actually cheaper for me to drive the NA FC filling with 87 octane, than it is in the Mazdaspeed 3 filling with 93 octane...lol!
Red c0met, what kind of exhaust?
Molotov, if you have his # and could ring him that would be great. I feel like he's ignoring me...He said he sent it out via USPS after I said please send fedex/UPS I WILL PAY FOR IT! Maybe give him a call asking about those block off plates as a diversion haha

Well ladies and gentleman, it is now Thursday and I would just like to put it out there that I will be attending cars & coffee this Sunday in Fairfax. I would really like it if some of you could make it out and meet up, talk about cars and such, and have a good time. If you cant make it due to church or other family related activities, no hard feelings.
Please let me know!
Very Respectfully,
Sean P

It's a nice ride, aside from the rattling on the exhaust around 2400 rpm. It's got a little bit of turbo lag but it builds boost quite quickly. Mine pulls harder than my brothers srt-4. Apparently from what I've heard from people is that its hard to find one where the AWD still works because people love to launch them and it destroys the front diff. It's also got 105,xxx on it so it has the typical rattles that's pretty normal for a 7 year old car to have. The seats can be a pain in the butt if you don't have them set to your specific liking. I remember I would make a trip to the Shenandoah Valley to see family and my lower back would kill me but I've since fixed that problem. Any specific things you'd like to know?

I just picked up a 2009 R3 with 12,500 miles on it. It came with those tires. They do fine in light snow and wet, but leave much to be desired on dry roads in corners. Maybe some of that is because they are old. I plan on putting some summer bridgestones on it in spring, and getting a second set of wheels and tires for winter with some blizzaks or similar.
