FYI to anyone who's interested, I just got off the phone with Brian and we discussed getting him down here to tune some cars. He said at least 3-4 people would be good, we can pick a shop that has a dynojet and then work out cost.

Are any of you guys interested?

Cool!, there is only 1 left and I won't be there There is a rallycross the same day, and I've already won the SSM championship and I'm currently tied for the rallycross stock AWD championship... so that has priority

you should go anyway though, David Lane (FB driver) is super nice and will show you the ropes

That's David Lane's car. He bought it new, it's really nice. It's a GSL-SE with a cartech turbo kit on it.

He let me co-drive it about a year ago when my car broke on the way to an event, it drives really nice and was surprisingly easy to throw around the course.

I want some tuning for the Auto FD. But, I have a lot of goodies that need to go on first and I also need a new fuel system. Not sure that I would have the car done in time unless this is happening in December/January

I was looking at CDC ones, since I did a few auto x with them like 10 years ago.

Uggghhhhh.....the dreaded emissions fail. It use to be fairly easy to pass but now they're getting stricter as we near classic car status. Effing VA. Just got the FD fixed up nicely at PBC Auto too, and looking forward to driving it...but they can't get it to pass.

Matt - I know you had some emissions issues earlier. Did you end up getting it passed?

Does anyone have a working pre-cat I can borrow....or another option would be to register it in WV. Has anyone gone the latter route?

Looking forward to the Fall Drive. Hopefully, I can make it this year!!

Didn't realize it doesn't even have to be WV...as only NoVA and its suburbs require emissions. I think I found a fix as I have an address I can use in Spotsylvania County. My troubles could be over.

If I can get 2-3 others interested we can probably work out some preliminary pricing after we find a convenient shop for us all in the area that has a Dynojet and won't jam our *** on renting the dyno.

Badass!!! Yeah, Brian is one of three people I'd trust to tune my car and the primary when it comes to location and knowledge about my current ECU.

I don't have my car back together yet, but I'll be picking up the rest of my engine bits for stacking on the 1st. Then once thats done it'll be going up to Brian for fab and wiring plus some other misc bits

If the timing works right you can def add me to the local tune list, otherwise I'll rendezvous with Brian at Speed1 for a one-off tune session. I'll coordinate directly with Brian regarding if I'll be able to make his session with you

Hey Duc,

New to the area... would you recommend PBC Auto? Looking to get some work done like a custom air pump design for .... wait for it... NOVA emissions...

Sorry to hear about your upcoming emissions testing Anderson. It's almost like studying for final exams or Boards now. Have to prepare hard for it, lots of anxiety and stress, waiting period, results....possibly repeat. Or a big celebration and sigh of relief!

I'll hit you up privately on your inquiry.

What are your thoughts on an RX-8?

I am thinking about getting a newer daily driver and was looking at my options. Wanted something fun to drive and prefer backseats (just in case I would need them, no kids...yet). Was thinking about getting a 2010/11 RX-8 GT. At this price point "the boss" will let me keep the FB. But it would be nice if the new car can replace the FB for autox and possibly a track day or two.
