I know its been covered to death but all the threads are by people in free states with no prejuduce against cars and mods. I however am in california so im asking for my specic needs. I want to go single exhaust but i dont want to get tickets left and right. I want to get a FEED SONIC HSR single exhaust because i love the sound and eventually i plan to track. I know singles are louder than duals but if i can get a single while still being compliant then i will. Any help will be greatly appriciated. California law states the decible level cant exceed 95db. Is it impossible for me to go single or do i have a shot LOL.

from what i've read you actually gain a bit more power over duals but you lose a slight bit of low end torque which i'm fine with.
what i plan to do is go with the RB streetable header-dual pre silencer-feed sonic hsr. i also will be keeping the original setup for smog or other emergencies.

Well that's true that a single is better, but in terms of less power that's because you'll likely have to have some kind of restriction in the exhaust, as well as a functional air pump etc

I would have an RB header to a 2.5 RB presilencer to a 2.5 Magnapack with a 3" Borla at the end. Dumping the exhaust into slightly larger muffler at the end really deepens the tone.
As a 12a guy, I may be off base with the 2.5. 2.25 may be sufficient for a stock port 13b, I don't really know. Maintaining velocity seems to be important. I do know that the larger muffler offers more of a 'rumble'.

Ive read that 2.5 is the max that should be for NA, 3" for turbo.

I ran RB True Duals on my FC and when it was time to take it back to stock, I tripped on how much heavier the racing beat stuff was compared to OEM. I'm sure the single will be much lighter weight, but yeah. Quality stainless steel weighs a lot.

I've never been pulled over for front plates or loud exhaust, etc in Santa Cruz. Those true duals were LOUD too. If a cop came near me with a decibel meter, the nearest idiot on a Harley would probably drown me out anyway. lol

Im not worried about being loud at WOT since I hardley go WOT unless I feel like being a jackass getting on the freeway or something LOL. I also was wondering the same. Like would it even matter since those harley asswipes are louder than anything else and ive never seen them getting hassled. Even jap sport bikes dont get hassled. I love the feed exhaust. No offense to anyone running apexi n1 but I really dont like them. They look too huge and dare I say this but too ricey for my taste, and I dont care for the angle in which it sits. The feed gives that aesome low rumble and sounds great at WOT. plus it isnt too big. How do the silencers work in terms of size. Would bigger be quieter, or smaller?? Or it doesnt make a difference? I was thinking maybe I can have some fabricated.

I love the FEED ...haha pretty much anything!
If you have a chance to jump on one of their exhausts, Hell yeah! Worst case scenario, the resale value will be AA++
If you're having trouble finding a FEED one, RB also makes a single tip that sounds nice and mellow. Magnaflow is also not too offensive.

You're not the only guy who doesn't like the Apex'i cantaloupe launcher

i was just gonna get one straight from them. its 1600 but hey beauty and quality cost money right?! LOL. not that the other options are crap by any means. if i find one somewhere cheaper whether its used or whatever then thats the route ill go but ive only seen one in the classifieds here once and it sold long ago.
