Project: Slowest 6 Port Build Ever
Alright so for a while now I've been back and forth on whether or not I should keep my 4 port with its carbed turbo setup from the PO or not and after seeing a 6 port engine at the local scrap yard I decided that I'd probably keep mine the way it is for now and I'll build the other engine the best I can.
Also just recently decided (today) to make a build thread so it'll be missing the disassembly and initial cleaning but that's it.
Plan
-The engine came with good Apex/Side seals (major bonus for my College kid wallet) but a blown coolant seal around the intermediate plate and a crippled oil control ring on the rear rotor so I'm going to buy the $160 gasket kit from Atkin's to make her run again.
-I'm going to get porting templates from Pineapple racing and give it a mild streetport.
-Clean every bolt and every piece of metal that was on and is going in the engine, this will not only make it look a bit better than it did when I got it but it will give me a better understanding of the engine in general since this will be my first tear down and reassembly of a Rotary. Cleaning the rust off will make it last a bit longer as well..or at least it should.
Goals
-I'm hoping to make this engine as good looking as I can but the primary purpose is to make it very reliable and strong running (maybe even something that would make Peejay proud)
-I don't have a whp goal at the moment but something around 200 should be enough
-This engine will probably be my engine that I use as an introduction to RallyX and AutoX (hopefully Stage rally someday)
I'll try to keep the thread up to date with what I'm doing when I can, I generally work on the engine in my spare time so it very well could be daily updates.
I'm going to also use this thread for information so if I'm doing something wrong feel free to yell at me and scold me how you will.
Thanks,
Daniel

What I've been looking at lately is converting my rear suspension to a proper 3/4link with a panhard.
Outside of that I've spent most of my time making my friend's car, which is parked in my shop, actually move under it's own power. It has so many issues but I'm getting them all ironed out one at a time. It finally moves but it bogs down under load. Still seeing if I can find a vac leak or whatever is causing it.
I do have a pic of the cars together though.
I'll get back to my engine as soon as I actually have room in my shop

good luck with your semester/trimester or whatever. i never thought i would find myself missing college, but at times i do - especially these last few years.
time management is key. unless your car fits neatly into your course of study, it will have to take a backseat. that said, at any given time, i had hella engine parts in my apartment when i was away at school. i sort of used them to reward myself or to "unwind".

I'm only going to Community College for an Associates though because my parents made just enough money for me to get jack **** from financial aid but they aren't paying for my college and I refuse to get loans because I don't want to screw over my life right out of college.
A few of my friends are at universities and don't have nearly the bank account I have currently built up, not to mention the looming debt they'll be in once the loan payments kick in.
