OR PP ID sizes....

So I was wondering with the fact that weber makes a 55 ID downdraft carb, if anyone has made or had made a periphrial port thats bigger then 51 or 52 ID, like maybe a 60 mm ID. seeing as you would still have 10 mm on each side of the rotor housings for the apex seals to push against, it would seems that it would work, although the clutch setup would probably be the limit, as this engine combo would make its power probably up in the area of 12-13k revs, and one would most likely have to get a fully custom race setup so that the clutch wouldnt come apart.... any thoughts ???

Thats a big gap for the apex seal to get over. I've never heard of a 60mm PP. I have however heard of a PP inlet with a 'bridge' down the middle to stop the apex seal bowing. I dunno if anyone else can confirm this?

I think what you're thinking of was basically an uber-duber bridge. Back before P-ports were legal in some racing series, someone thought this would be better than a properly ported bridge
