bridgeport intake dilemma

hey guys, so i have an s4 na and am planning a bridgeport build, please don't ask why, this is my plan. i've been on the forum for a while now and have don lots and lots of research. everytime someone mentions a bridgeport the first comment (after why a bridgeport? lol) is "your going to need a custom intake." now the question i have is what kind of intake should i use?im torn between 2 choices unless someone has another idea (please don't tell me to make my own). now what im thinking is either using the stock s4 na intake manifold with a aftermarket 80mm single plate throttlebody (instead of the factory triple plate throttlebody) and making a cold air intake (keeping the passenger side headlight in an up position and cutting a hole out underneath so i can bring my air filter in front of the radiator or using a rotaryshack 6 port downdraft style manifold with a set of injected itb style throttlebodies. i think though that if i use the s4 intake with a custom single throttlebody i should get a little more low-mid range torque but with the itb manifold my powerband will be higher. im planing to set my rev limiter at 10,300rpm (in case of a miss shift) with the intentions of shifting at 10k or another thought (and my favorite idea) if i can find somewhere that sells a intake manifold flange (just the flange) then i could have a custom set of itb runners made a little longer for the extra mid range, but i can't find anywhere that sells a 6 port 13b intake flange. this is the only part of the build i havent decided on yet. im going to be using either a megasquirt or a haltch for the ecu and building with s5 9.7:1 compression rotors. any ideas on what i should do for an intake would be appreciated (or if anyone knows a link to a page where i can buy just the 6 port intake flange) also, someone mentioned to me i should run a distributor if i choose to use the injected itb's, i think the cas will work better but if anyone has any input on it, i would be grateful.

thanks
-Roy

The S4 N/A intake manifold is probably the best of all the factory intakes.

You can do better, of course, but it's not the end of the world either.

A single throttle body will HURT things. Been there tried that. It screws up the ping-pong magic that goes on in the plenum.

i had given that thought also, but another member on the board stated needing to change to a single throttle because the factory primary wasn't enough and his bridge was almost stalling. i read the thread but i can't remember the title. i found a website that offers the tII intake flange and the site says the na flange is coming soon but not up yet. im thinking about twin 55mm injected throttle bodies, using a custom flange and bringing the runner in the path of the factory intake, but instead of coming into the plenum it would end with the itbs with 6inch velocity stacks that'll extend back to about where the factory throttle body sits. what do you think of that idea? it would give longer runners to help with low-mid range and still free flowing itb's. any input would be great

i agree with pj, the factory throttle body is the GOOD part.... its 3x45mm throttle plates vs like a weber which is 2x48 or 51mm throttles...

i'd personally run an IDA style intake, mazdatrix has all of em, http://www.mazdatrix.com/r-idamanifolds.htm

hey guys thanks for the replies. got some bad news today and found out that i owe my old community college $1500 that i was told wouldn't have to be paid back until later as a payment plan with my student loans but found out i have to pay this first, so the build is going to be put off for a while. which hurts because im starting classes at UTI orlando next fall. stupid financial stuff. i wanted to do the bp build before school next fall. anyways thanks guys.
