6port NA carb ignition questions
Hey guys,
I'm in the process of building my 88 base coupe and I've been ordering a lot of new parts. Today I got in my Crane HI-6 "fireball" ignition system. Supposedly this system is a real solid performer and will provide all the spark I could need for my build.
I know they don't offer rotary support for their product but I've heard that a lot of big power guys on here have used it with great success. I was hoping to get some help with how to properly wire it up with a dual-coil system.
I'm going to be using dual trailing coils and keeping the stock CAS. I was planning on leaving the ecu and stock wiring harness in the car but with a carb and an aftermarket ignition I should be able to yank both of those out and not have any issues right?
I know JTBShaw has used this system with real good results so maybe he can chime in and point me in the right direction.
thanks for the help in advance.

Nope, somewhere in the line the injectors read trigger from one of the coils I think. If you run a dizzy you could get away with running 2 msd 6a with 2 fc leading coils. One would fire both spark plugs in one rotor. No ignitors or dizzy cap necessary. You just have to space the pickups 90' out from one another and cut two opposing tips on the mag pickup rotor. Done. High power direct fire setup, I did this on a 6 port bridge years ago.
