This was the last bbq/meet that happened at my place.
It was an awesome turnout with lots of burgers, hot dogs and really cool cars. Planning another one later this summer. It'll hopefully be an even better turnout followed with a go karting trip. So if you're reading this, I hope you can make it!

Hey everyone, just moved back to Albuquerque after being away for a few years. I brought this back with me from WA. Looking forward to seeing any of you on the streets/meets going on.

New to NM
Hello! Glad to see there are some folks in NM. I've just moved here from MD back east and am loving every minute of it. Still havent registered the 87 fc in NM yet but it will happen. So far have only done all the awful jobs that do nothing to make it faster. But oh it drives nice.
Please please please tell me there are some autocross events or track days here. I just started getting into them back east last year and cant not do that again.
Any good tuner shops in town? Any folks have some serious auto tools? Right now as a Mech engineer out of work Ive got more time than money to do some work.

Thanks. I actually may have seen your car somewhere around lomas close to UNM. Does it have the white 10AE wheels on it?
Also read your build thread. Looks good. Let me know if you need stuff welded, Ive got a TIG and might be working on a side mount alternator bracket soon using a mill at the Quelab maker space.

Cool! You are in between where I live and my brother lives. Let me know if you ever need anything. I still need to get my vehicles registered here and get my brakes back up to snuff.
Anyone have an idea if the 13B counts as an engine that burns oil for lubrication purposes and is exempt from emissions in bernalillo county? It does, and it should. I hope so since I dont have a cat.

Got my brakes done. Drives like a dream with the new tires.
I called the NM emissions people and although their website says that engines that burn oil for lubrication purposes are exempt from having to pass emissions, the rotary somehow doesnt fit under that. To them at least.
So we are going to be required to pass emissions. I maybe saving up for a universal catalytic converter soon. Or finding a friend to register the car outside of the county.
Bleh. At least my MD tags are good till 2017.

Number 1 reason to live in Rio Rancho, no emissions.
I've got some tools depending what you are needing. Good to know you can TIG, I'm wanting to make a custom intercooler this summer, will need to do some end tanks. I have a stock T2 precat if it will help you, main cat is long gone though.
You should check into the DukeCityRotary group on Facebook, it is a lot more active than here. There is a get together on Sunday in a couple weeks.

1. The exemption is meant for 2 stroke motorcycles that aren't normally driven on roads, not for cars.
2. The oil isn't premixed with the gasoline; it's sprayed into the intake and combustion chamber, therfore it's not fueled by a mixture of gasoline and oil.
3. There are a bunch of RX-7s that have been tested and passed emissions, so we shouldn't be exempt.
For 1, I'm sure that's true but it doesn't matter since the letter of the law says something much broader that I think includes our cars.
For 2, I think he's reading it as mixture of gasoline and oil = premixed gas and oil rather than fueled by both gas and oil, so that's a bit harder to argue.
For 3, that doesn't argue against the law exemption, just justifies his thought that they should be tested.
You can try again yourself, but I think it would take a lawyer to actually change their minds. I did bring printouts from the service manual where it states that it burns oil for lubrication, and a diagram showing that oil is injected into the combustion chamber, but he didn't care about those.
On a side note, he did imply that if my oil metering pump wasn't functioning, thus requiring me to premix oil in the gas tank, he would give the exemption.
Sorry for the long post, but hopefully this will help.

Hey guys. MD1032 sorry to leave you hanging man this thread is always dead so most of us hang out on DukeCityRotary on facebook.
I see you've got some rad foresight aero on your FC. Lmk if you want to take a look at the rare foresight spoiler I have in the garage. Might sell it since I'm not using it.
