NM New Mexico Community Meet and Greet!!!

I am happy to announce that I will be hosting a Meet and Greet for the rotary community in New Mexico!

As many of you have probably noticed, there are quite a few of us here, but nobody really knows each other. This puts us all at a disadvantage because we can all be helpful to one another in this very small niche segment of the auto industry. I have spoken with a few of you about doing this, and it was well recieved, so here are the official plans!

The date will be Sunday, January 22nd, at 2pm. I will host it at my house, which is in the NE Heights of Albuquerque. I chose to do it there because I have plenty of room for parking, we will not be kicked out, nor have to pay for the space, and food will be much cheaper for me to provide. I hope that this will give everyone enough time to plan on coming out.

My goal is for all of us to put a face with the names, or a name to the car, etc... I know many of you also don't have running cars, or may not own a rotary anymore, but that is no reason not to attend! We can all bench race, shoot the ****, tell our stories, share mods/tips/tricks/etc. and just have a good time sharing our passion. And again, it will be valuable to everyone to know each other for the sake of parts, tools, advice, and whatever else comes up.

Please feel free to bring your significant other, friend, cousin, mom, dad, or whoever you want. I will provide food and drinks, but if anyone wants to help and volunteer to bring something, that will leave me more money to put into my FD Please leave a comment in this thread about if you can make it or not. I will start a list of attendance, and keep it updated. My feelings will not be hurt if you can't make it, but a final list will help me with my shopping list.

I'm really looking forward to making this happen. If this is somewhat sucessful, we can make plans to do something like this frequently and also plan some things like cruises, trips to the racetracks, caravans to SevenStock, etc... I haven't planned on doing a cruise or anything either before or after this meet and greet, but if enough people are interested in doing something like that lets make it happen! LETS ALL MAKE A HUGE ATTEMPT TO NOT LET THIS FIZZLE OUT!!! Whether anybody shows up or not, I will have a good time by my gotdam self hahaha!

Lets get this show on the road!!!!
-Sean B.

P.S. This is not just for Albuquerque residents! This is open for anybody! Lets see some of you guys from Durango, Cruces, El Paso, and some of the other places I've seen posts from show up! That would be awesome!!!

If a good turn out comes to play i will push Sandia motorsports park for a show a tune day for all rotary enthusiast to come out in 2012 to have a fun day of running and meeting people in our community but still open to all.... i just want to see how much support is out there before i do this for our nm family here....i agree with Sean we need to get to know everyone here for support and community cause the production of the cars we own need real knowledgeable people to keep them running and beating the other cars out there ....which we have here to utilize.

I'm buying an fc from jeff, that cool guy with the 1jz cressy. I'd love to meet some rotary people to glean some knowledge off of as I am brand new to this car, engine, etc. So count me in!

Well, I'm glad to see we'll at least see a few people there so far. I'll be getting in touch with some of the "old" guys hopefully this week and get some of them out as well. Ryan, Philip, Steven, Simon, anybody see this yet????

If the mysterious turbo-thief ever gets my car turning fuel into noise without needing the plugs changed every ~100 miles, I'll be there.

If the mysterious promise to help me install my new fuel pumps maker helps me provide the flow of life-liquid to my car, I'll be there.

my apologies, my comment was directed at Ryan. Yeah that relay isn't the problem anymore. It was actually (or also?) my in-tank pump, but I decided to get rid of the a1000 all together.

I'll bring something, let you know when we get closer to the date. I might grill up some tri tip, but need to know how many people are going first.

So tentatively for food we got tri-tip, chips/dip. I'm a baller cook, too. You guys want green chili chicken enchiladas, brisket, pulled pork, or just something like burg/brauts/hotdogs? Or we could do something like a taco/burrito bar too. I may be a goofy white guy but I can cook New Mexican food better than most hispanics hahahaha!

If I had hours and hours ahead I could do eggrolls, but Sundays are church days so I'll just bring something small. I'll try to get my wife to bake some cookies and we'll have a nice easy dessert.

I should be able to make it and my fiancee might come as well. I'll talk to Stephen and his wife to see if they'd like to come as well. Burg/brauts/hotdogs sound good. If that's on the menu I can bring hotdogs and buns. A taco/burrito bar sounds pretty good as well. If we do that I can bring ground beef, taco shells, and tortillas.

Yeah, bring them! As far as food goes, we'll get a list together about a week out and figure out what everyone is going to bring. Weather may play a big part in whether we cook outside or in so a week should give us that info. I'm pretty pumped! It sounds like something is actually going to happen this time around. A good buddy of mine who some of you know has a cool website call GarageBuiltRides and he'll be out taking some pics for the site. Stoked!!!!
