MoTec ECU for 20b
I'm looking for a little help here. I am thinking of putting either the Motec M600 or M800 in my FD. Does anyone know everything I will need to set up this system for my 20b?

I am also considering this option. Here is the list I came up with.
Bare minimum:
6-Injector outputs
6-ignition outputs
Extras:
+1-mapable boost control solenoid output
+1-mapable stepper motor output for the oil metering pump
+electric fan switch control
+Idle Air stepper motor control
More Extras:
+power steering switch
+AC switch
+mappable water injection solenoid output
+muffler valve switch
I think the M800 is a better choice than the 600 because the price difference between the two deteriorates quickly if you add all the options on the M600 that are included as standard on the m800, and other ecus costing 1/2 as much.

Thanks for the help. I am having someone trained by MoTec (actualluy he is taking another class this week) out to take a look at what I got going on. I'll let you know what he has to say.

all the ECU's on the market will work if they are set up the way they were designed too. Some have more features than others and you pay for what you get.
If you buy an ECU from someone who can't support the product and you can't get the support you need you will not be happy with that ECU.
Depending on who sets your ECU up to how good it will be.
I prefer the M800 and if you want to set up some of the nice features like
"closed loop Lambda" "traction control""Launch Control""Data Logging"
which all work very well. If you do any track work you can add a G sensor and a beacon set and you can do Track Mapping.
If you do use data logging MoTeC have released the new "Interpreter2" to view your data, which also works very well.
You may be interested in adding a "mini Dash" to your M800 which will display real time readings.

I'm interested in a motec trained tuner who's has rotary experince, we'll be using the M800 with twins and the SARD STACK interface.
OR I suppose I'd have to get that taining as well.. sigh.

If you need a full display the why not the MoTeC ADL, if you don't need or can't afford the full ADL then look at the Sports Dash (same display with less functions) I would go the full ADL (I have a full ADL my self) In Australia there are a few dealers with rotary experince, I have done dealings with these and recomend them.

the STACK has a CF dash insert for the FD with the main harness atachment there, plus they like the look of the stack better. My customer has more money then allot of semi deity's so it's not a matter of what he can afford , but what he likes and wants... Also I have connection in Japan that can get me most of that level of part for a good price.
And Australia is a bit too far to have someone fly up to NORTH of Toronto to work on a Motec.. thanks anyways. I may just have to take a few taringing days with the product. TX sounds good.

This is a simple, albeit, expensive, daily driver.. However the way this car is being built it could do a GT class racing without much problem..
HE is going to want to use the MDD-SW with the sparco.

I would show your customer the ADL. If you are going to use a MoTeC M800 then it seems strange to me that you wouldn't use a MoTeC ADL that links by CAN (4 wire hook up) to get all the chanels from the ECU to the display. This means in the dash you can see things like: injector duty cycle, Fuel used, ignition timing, Lambda (air fuel ratio), speeds, slip, temps, trims,
boost, TPS in fact any chanel as well as maths chanels, alarms and alarm values, condition statements and timers.
At least have a look at it.
