Chris, try Rotechniks near Reading. They have done a MoTech into a race FD3S.

I've owned a car with a M4PRO on it, they are a good computer in general. Not as advanced in tuning as a Autronic SM2 though

I looked at going with an M600, but the pricing for a supported unit in the US was too extreme for my application (street/hobby).

Look at the prices and then report back to us..
If you don't know this by now, you need to buy them from an AUTHORIZED dealer and have them installed by an AUTHORIZED installer.
If you don't or try to do it yourself, MoTeC can lock you out, and you can't get any updates for your unit.

SpeedSource can put a motec in, and tune it on the dyno for you. There are several running in ITS with them. Ill let David or Sylvain quote the price for you though....OUCH>..

Any One Using Motec?

I've heard they have an ECU geared towards 2 rotors, and they are very user friendly on the software side. Was gonna go with the Haltech E6X, but been looking at the Motec M400.

Any users?

Great hardware, great software, expensive price. The E6X isn't in the same functionality/price range as the M400. If you have an experienced installer (or have enough experience yourself) the M400 won't disappoint.

no one? It's a system made only for 2 rotors. Priced very fairly, less channels than the systems that are made for rotary and piston motors...

I run a motec m400. Just heard about the new m2r that they have. After going through the software yesterday it looks like its an m4 thats geared a little more towards rotaries. The m400 is amazing, the new version 3 software gives you so much control, but comes at the price of being much more complex than your standard software for an e6k or m4...

I know of a way of getting one for cheaper than what you would pay here in the states. I bought mine from AUS and saved a ton on the exchange rates, but you run at the risk of not being able to get tech support here... Motec USA only wants to support ecu's sold from dealers here in the states. I got my m400 with harness for $2400 shipped, and a buddy of mine got an M4 with harness and sensors for $1800 shipped.. Check out horsepowerinabox.com, great guys.

If you have any questions about the motec, just let me know.

Damn bro, that pretty useful! I have heard nothing but good things about these systems. I've heard that the software is more user friendly. Like, you can input conditions, specs on your car, and ideal output (hp or what have you) and it can create maps based on your input.

When I look at the interface of a E6K, it looks more like creating php that tuning... Is the motec interface easier to use?

I heard that the M2R is a little cheaper than the M400 because it is geared specifically towards 2 rotors. So, no piston motor or 3 rotor can be tuned with it.

So with Motec, they include your basic sensors in the price of the unit, they just charge the harness seperatly, correct?

Since you are so close, I'd like to come see motec in action.

anyone here using a motec?

Anyone on here using a motec? If so what model? How do you like it. I understand that it is a rediculously powerful ECU, so what do you use your car for? I suspect mainly Race purpose only?

See when I first set out with my 7 my origianl plan was to get a motec...but then everyone hounded me and told me it was too much unless my car was hardcore race only, but now I kind of regret it seeign as how I have to get the pfc datalogit to get kinda close to the operational capacity of the motec systems which had i bought the pfc and commander brand new woudl have well been a few hundred less then a motec m600. I wanted to know a coupel fo things from the motec users first hand. If I wanted to use one m600 unit between 3 cars. Woudl it be easy to load the setting each time via a save file on a laptop? Also, could I run 4 after market coils on an FD without any extra stuff with the m600?

To answer both your questions, yes. I am running an M400 on my bridgeport FD. Loading files onto the ECU takes a couple of seconds via the CAN connector.. I am also running a 4 coil setup. They are just plain badass.

I am using an autronic 500R cdi. However, if you wanted to use a coil such as an ls1 that has built in ignitors, you wouldn't need an ignition box.
