"ATTENTION CAR ENTHUSIASTS: WARNING

I'm posting about the WEDNESDAY NIGHT MEET at SONIC in BLOOMINGTON.

As everyone who has been there this year knows that the size of this meet has grown exponentially. However, it has come time that this is a problem. With and extra police patrol specifically for this meet, we all knew something was going to happen soon. Soon is now.

For those of you that don't know, I work at Bobby and Steve's auto world in Bloomington, a stone's throw away from those meet location, and we offer towing services as well as impounding services to nearby businesses.

Today we received a call from the Manager of the Bloomington sonic where this meet is held. The restaurant has received multiple complaints from surrounding businesses, residences, as well as the Bloomington PD about the meet. So in response to this they are asking that all vehicles that are not parked in designated spaces, as well as stalls that have overstayed their welcome, and don't move their vehicles when asked, be impounded. Yes, you read right impounded.

Now before you get your panties in a bunch, let me throw some reasoning at you. This meet lasts all night, with cars beyond the parking capacity. This means that all of Sonic's stalls are taken up, mostly by meet attendees. This poses a problem Because there is no turnover in the stalls, and the restaurant can't take in new customers Except in the drive through (which has Also become a massive pain in the ***). Look at it from a business perspective; we bring them a lot of business, however they can't run normal customer turn over. Not to mention that the establishment is receiving a bad reputation if nothing is done.

So I'm posting this as a warning to anyone that attends the sonic meets on Wednesday nights from here on out. They will expect you only used their supplied stalls for 30-60 minutes, then be on your way, They will expect you to park in designated parking spots, and they will expect you to respect the property, and surrounding businesses. They are prepared to take action upon people that don't comply.

As I said earlier, my employer has been contacted about impounding. I have nothing to do with towing, impounding, or any of that. Should any of this happen, I can't help you.

I'm posting this to serve as a warning to anyone that does go to the meet. I imagine there will be a heavy law enforcement presence as well. So please, be respectful.

Pass this along and share, so no one gets caught off guard"

Yeah, that's a little too sketchy for me to roll into and I thought about going tomorrow night. Looks like I'll just go to the TCE meet Friday night and C&C Saturday morning then.....
Hey Austin how's it going??

Does anyone know if this meet still happens or if they moved? I feel like my car is kind of up to par now so it's time to have some fun.

Nick..how is your car coming along?

Hahah. I will make a build thread when I get free time from school.

Law school = no life.

I've a substantial amount of pictures right now, but haven't had time to organize them and label them. And yes that would mean the fd wouldn't see the road for a while lol, but what's another year? Lol. I'm supposed to be picking another fc up Friday so it'll be my summer car if I don't sell that to support the 20b build.

Either that or I'll end up building a 20b while I drive the fd.

The goal is to get the 4 seater fd and the t2 ready for cars and coffee next year.

And then track time with one of them lol.

So you have two FD's right now? I see you have one up on Craigslist for $15,000 with no pics. Is that one running and just an extra right now? I assume that's not the one you want to 20b swap. I really need to get into the FD game...

Haha no. I passed on the opportunity to buy another one from a buddy of mine (it's a blurple one with a turbonetics single turbo kit).

It's the same car I plan on putting the 20b in. My rationale is that whatever sells first is what goes. I want a CYM FD.

You should get into the fd game. There was 2 shells on cl before, but they both have salvaged titles and one was from this guy who cut the floorboards out of the fd .

If I sell my turbo and other parts I'll just keep the fd to do the 20b then sell my t2 swap in the fc and throw my spare Rew motor in the fc.

Does it have a cf hood and 550 some hp?

Austin, did you see the black roller on cl? Man if I had an extra 7k right now I'd buy it and push it up and down the street in front of your house all winter haha....really though, I'd make it into the track machine and let my 95 sit under the car cover for the rest of its life. You better hope you come up with a wad of cash faster than I can because I have a feeling I'll be on the lookout for another fd soon ;p

Hahah. Actually I'm not sure how much hp it had. All I know is I helped him install it. I asked to buy his NSX, but he wouldn't let that go lol

Yeah man, I see it often - every time Google Chrome opens on my computer the first page is Craigslist with RX7 searched. So I see it a few times a day.

My only concerns about that one are the trim level and completeness of the car. I'd want everything to be there in order to just swap in an engine and go. Also I want a sunroof so I want a touring but this one doesn't have it.

Like you said, perfect track car or build from the ground up. I would love knowing that I did all the work to the drivetrain so I could trust it.

I'll be hunting for a deal like that around Jan or Feb I believe...

Posting in here as I know lots of 7 owners used to join up at the Sonic. 23rd Annual Vintage Foreign Car Show in Osseo, MN this coming Saturday (May 16). This is a FREE event open to 1993 and older foreign cars. Please check out this thread and post if you can join us.

https://www.rx7club.com/midwest-rx-7...urday-1083461/

So far two forum members planning on caravanning up there. Will be leaving Bloomington area around 8:30 AM. Come join us...cause...we want to represent our "7s" and because a caravan really should be more than two cars.
