the gxl runs again and is back on the ground after a 20 year slumber. Purring like a kitten. Should be able to head to sonic again after I get some tires. Tires are bald and dry rotted/barely hold pressure. Which is a shame because this thing is CLEAN! And I want to drive it something fierce.

**** box base with a truckload of parts for sale $800 firm, get it out of my life. I need tire money. over $2k in part out value.

^ Cool to hear man! I haven't been to the meets since last year because I sold my FB. Have my daily driven Audi Avant that is nice enough to drive down if any of you RX-7 guys still show up. Don't really have a desire to go unless there's rotaries there.

Had to sell for school.

And by had I mean this meme perfectly:

Shouldn't have sold/traded for what I did. But glad she's at a better home currently being taken care of the way I would have. I will buy it back someday...hopefully soon.

If you'll notice I took that pic from the current FD3S ad on Mpls Craigslist right now. Sad that I'm considering picking that one up and making it into a track car isn't it

I need another rotary or bike soon before I go insane.

That car is sitting on the ground. It has no suspension and has a salvaged title. Well clean, but run a car fax it'll come up with total loss. I know this because I went out there twice to look at it. The guy tore everything apart of it and I was going to buy it just to save it.

So once again, please know that fd has been salvaged before and is currently completely stripped sitting outside on the ground with no suspension or rims/windows, ect.

Would be cool to see a strictly rotary (and by strictly I mean rotaries along with my Audi to take rolling shots of all your cars ) cruise in MN before winter.

I haven't been to Sonic since more than a year ago and I just saw a buddy post this in a group (TC Euros) on Facebook:

"ATTENTION CAR ENTHUSIASTS: WARNING

I'm posting about the WEDNESDAY NIGHT MEET at SONIC in BLOOMINGTON.

As everyone who has been there this year knows that the size of this meet has grown exponentially. However, it has come time that this is a problem. With and extra police patrol specifically for this meet, we all knew something was going to happen soon. Soon is now.

For those of you that don't know, I work at Bobby and Steve's auto world in Bloomington, a stone's throw away from those meet location, and we offer towing services as well as impounding services to nearby businesses.

Today we received a call from the Manager of the Bloomington sonic where this meet is held. The restaurant has received multiple complaints from surrounding businesses, residences, as well as the Bloomington PD about the meet. So in response to this they are asking that all vehicles that are not parked in designated spaces, as well as stalls that have overstayed their welcome, and don't move their vehicles when asked, be impounded. Yes, you read right impounded.

Now before you get your panties in a bunch, let me throw some reasoning at you. This meet lasts all night, with cars beyond the parking capacity. This means that all of Sonic's stalls are taken up, mostly by meet attendees. This poses a problem Because there is no turnover in the stalls, and the restaurant can't take in new customers Except in the drive through (which has Also become a massive pain in the ***). Look at it from a business perspective; we bring them a lot of business, however they can't run normal customer turn over. Not to mention that the establishment is receiving a bad reputation if nothing is done.

So I'm posting this as a warning to anyone that attends the sonic meets on Wednesday nights from here on out. They will expect you only used their supplied stalls for 30-60 minutes, then be on your way, They will expect you to park in designated parking spots, and they will expect you to respect the property, and surrounding businesses. They are prepared to take action upon people that don't comply.

As I said earlier, my employer has been contacted about impounding. I have nothing to do with towing, impounding, or any of that. Should any of this happen, I can't help you.

I'm posting this to serve as a warning to anyone that does go to the meet. I imagine there will be a heavy law enforcement presence as well. So please, be respectful.

Pass this along and share, so no one gets caught off guard"

Yeah, that's a little too sketchy for me to roll into and I thought about going tomorrow night. Looks like I'll just go to the TCE meet Friday night and C&C Saturday morning then.....

Thanks for the information. Brought my GXL to work in anticipation of going tonight, now, it will be heading right back to the garage to have its car cover placed on it.

I am for an all rotary meet soon. Would be cool. I know "scoops" in bloomington is all for car shows. I am sure if someone asked, it could be arranged as we are few in numbers in our local community. Bonus, it is close to the freeway, close to a windy road that leads to a lake with grills available.

If you're looking for a "group" it would be the MNGG (Minnesota Garage Geeks) forum. They technically run the meet and have moderators of the forum moderate the meets as well.

MNGG doesn't over see the meet anymore actually. As far as I know, it's kind of an unsupervised event currently. Back when it started, it was a very small group with a lot of rotary people. Now the meet is gigantic with every brand you can think of represented, but I doubt there are any more RX's than an average import oriented meet.
