By passing fuel pump relay

My LT9 is acting up and sometimes it will not prime or turn on my fuel pump.If i bypass the relay and hook the pump up to a switch bypassing the microtech will it work?will i need to re tune the car?will it affect the pumps setting on the microtech.Thanks.

Bypassing the relay contacts with a switch will not effect the tune or the Microtech in any way. But keep in mind that if you use a switch, in the event of a collision/rollover, the pump will continue to run even if the engine isn't. Could be unsafe.

It's odd that the Microtech isn't triggering the relay. Perhaps the relay is bad or the connections to the coil are intermittent?
