Going from MS2 to MS3 Pro
Currently running a MS2 V3 in my car, and have an opportunity to swap it with a MS3 Pro. How much tuning will I have to do, going from one ecu to the newer? Can I straight copy my MSQ over? My problem is I dont want to swap the ECU if it means I'm going to have to spend all summer re-tuning again because I am essentially starting from scratch. The additional features dont mean THAT much to me at the moment. I'd rather go enjoy the damn car.

Not entirely true but mostly true. You will want to triple check all your settings after loading. Also, you will want to switch to sequential injection. Once you get the inj timing right your VE table will probably need some retuning as well. Also if you are not using table-based staging you will want to switch if you are adjusting VE anyway.

Depends largely on what you will be doing. Stock is pretty strong at least into the high teens for boost psi from my experience.

I am currently upgrading my ignition from stock fc with amp to direct fire smart coils. ing-a coils. I was having break up at higher rpm and boost. I hope this will help. Come spring I will have more info. Very cold and snowy now lol.
ms3 13brew street port s366 .91a/r @ 18psi 800cc meth/injection in fc3s chassis
ffe trigger kit was my best investment cleaned up a lot of small issues I was having.

so with that being said is there an advantage switching from wasted spark to coil on plug? Even if it helps with cruising I wouldnt mind making the switch. I think 18-20 PSI is as high as I would be going, and I do have a methanol kit to install to safely take it past the 15psi barrier on pump gas. As said earlier I would be retaining factory FC coils....except I would be using 4 trailing coils.

I think it would not really benefit using the old t2 coil in direct fire. They are almost 30 years old tech. They work well for mild upgrades. But when you start smashing the boost and meth they loose the ability to fire. Meth is a little harder to light then pump gas and throw in the added pressure makes it even harder. So newer stronger coil is recommended. But give it try I would be curious the results.
