ms3 help

I have been using ms for a few years now. I am now upgrading to ms3. This is a big upgrade from the old stuff. I am having trouble setting this up. I am not sure what to do with the sequential stuff or ignition for that matter. I can't even get a tach signal. Here is my msq for what I got setup so far. Any help would be great. I am using 3.57 board so everything is all new to me. I feel like I am a newbie even though I have had my car running on ms for like 6 years lol. Also in the msq I have not touch the ve table or ignition yet. I will import my current ones when I can get the fiqured out. I am using a jimstim v1.3 and jimstimx for testing. I have wired up a cas for trying to get tach signal. I think it is a setting or jumper problem maybe someone will know. Thanks

found the problem with the tach signal got that all fixed. It was a problem with the cam input on the jimstimx board. No just need to know what to do with the sequential stuff. I am lost with what the firing order is and what injector to hook to which driver. I am not sure if anyone has used full sequential on rotary .

Been running sequential for more than a year. Have you read the manual?

My only question is the firing order. Would it be 1324 or 1342. That is all i was looking for. I think I got most of the other setting right just unsure of firing order. I also have no idea where to start with injector timing table. I quess it should mirror the spark but fire sooner to get there before spark. Thanks

Do you mean injector firing order? If so, I think this tells you everything you need:
Inj A Front rotor primary injector
Inj B Rear rotor primary injector
Inj C Front rotor secondary injector
Inj D Rear rotor secondary injector

There has been discussion some time ago on msextra.com about determining optimal injector timing. I don't think I have any wisdom on the topic. Maybe Ken will chime in.

Well I have had 0 luck with ms3. could not get a clean tach signal. Car worked great on ms2. So I switched back for now. I guess I must of mess something up in the wiring or settings. I gonna leave it for now till winter. It would also be great is someone could look over my msq to see if there are any setup errors. There would not be any wiring changes for ms2 to ms3 beside the 2nd trigger being moved to cam in right. Polarity should be the same. I mess with the pot and they did nothing to clean it up. I could get it to idle fine but as soon as touch the throttle it would spike and drop like crazy.

That usually points to a noise issue, 2nd trig is more prone to having noise issues. In this case it sounds like wiring to me... how are your ms3's grounds set up?

I had the ground setup the exact same way as the ms2 v3.0. Which I think I grounded it to one of the cap on the main board. I read it somewhere that it was a good spot. I have a perfectly clean signal with that setup. On the ms3 I used pin 7 on the main db37. I will try it again over winter with reinstall. Of course on the bench everything works great. I also am using the fd crank trigger which is suppose to be hard to clear of noise. But it worked perfectly on the ms2. I am just unsure of the setup on the msq if they look right. If that is good then it must be wiring.

thanks for the help

So you have 1 pin on the MS grounded? You need to add 2 or 3 more to the mainboard, and at least 3 to the ms3x board.

no no I think 8 wires in total grounded I just used pin 7 for vr grounds. I am just confused on why it work so good with the v3 ms2 compared to the v3.57 ms3. I must have messed up some wiring or settings. Which it didn't need to move that much wires for the switch. 3 for ignition and 4 for injectors. Also moving the 2nd vr from daughter card to cam input on ms3.

Yes I bought the ms3 premade db37 harness and used the grounds on it. There is 5 ground on that harness. They are all grounded in the same area on the engine.

OK, I need you to give me an accurate picture of what went where on each connector. Where is the Ne sensor grounded? G sensor? CAS wiring shield? MS3X? Mainboard? sensors? Engine? etc...
