Epic 1/8th mile 0-80mph win with my S4 N/A VS 95 Z28 6 speed
Sunday morning, get home from friends house 3am, i go on the compy. Dave messages me to race, for fun cuz he wanted to entertain himself by owning me in his 95 z28.
Z28-1995 LT1, 6 speed, Hypertech ECU, cold air intake
S4 n/a - large streetport, crappy gsl-se header, drop in filter, baffled dynomax catback, and 1/2 a cat left in my cat
We meet at the sony store by the napa just before the on ramp to mary hill bypass
We go off to a quite street, each end of the the street is a cult de sack, basically 1/8mile
We race and get up to about 140ish km twice across the street
heres the epic win part.... 0-120km/h in 1st and 2nd gear i owne him basically in an 1/8th mile race by a car length, but a bit after i shift to 3rd he starts to pull on me ever so slightly. So i own him 0-120 TWICE
I was really suprised that my s4 na could do such a thing, especially i thought he would have the launch, he has summer 245/45/16 fusion zri summer tires, while i have rock hard falken 512 205 all seasons
So him being sore that i beat him with 80CI he gets pissed and wants to redeem himself with a rolling start on the maryhill
so basically he wins the rolling start from 70ish, since his gearing is much better with a 6 speed VS my stupid 4 speed
But none the less amazing for a na s4 to keep up with it on a rolling start
I wish i recorded the 0-80mph race though, it got owned up till 80mph by a car length

53.6%/46.4% - Crap!
I can't watch the video at work but I will say that his car was running like absolute crap OR he can't drive worth a damn. If you really did win then congrats on that, but I wouldn't drive around thinking you can beat other LT1 cars...
The hypertech stuff is generally considered junk, but even still it should destroy your car. My friend has a 1995 Z28 LT1/T56. With an intake, exhaust, and headers he put down 306/337 and ran 13.0-13.1 (I can't remember his exact time). I don't think your S4 could touch that time on a track. He put down ~290 rwhp on the factory headers and ran 13.3 I believe.
Your friend could definitely use bigger tires, with the torque those cars make he should really have 275's, but that shouldn't cause him to run that slow.
Keep in mind that I have an LT1 also so I have a good idea what they are capable of. He was definitely having issues.
I'm not saying you didn't win, because it is possible his car was broken or he couldn't drive, I'm just saying you shouldn't win. Anyway, good kill.

I have raced those cars before on the 1/8 track, and I have beaten quite a few, however I would say I won most of those races cause I got the holeshot and excellant 60 ft times. They are faster on the top end, most quarter long runs would put them ahead somewhat.
In the same respect. I have been destroyed by some of those cars. I assume some just run better than others..they are chevys...lol
Good kill.

ya he had a shitty launch for the 1/8th mile runs we did, only 245's
i had 205's but had a lot less torque,
but like in the vid, rolling top end is better, since he pulls on me in 3rd

I'd stick with calling it a 5spd. Usually people associate 4 speed with the automatic transmission.

no..... you didnt. That z28 must have been a 6cyl running on 3 pistons with 3 fat girls in the back. Im all about supporting the rotary community but dont post some fanboy fictional kill.

Well i would say good kill bro!..Just dont expect it to happen again it was one of those rare instant's were something was wrong with his car...Like him not knowing how not to spin out!
your auto FC will top out around maybe..130? all the while if that car had bolt on's he would pull like a skined ape all the way to 155.
Any way glad you had fun and noone got hurt!..Just remember sooner or later he's going to learn how to drive that thing and your going to need a turbo!
