Hi, my name is Ryan. I live in Norfolk, VA. I have a 1980 SA RX-7 project car. I have already been lurking on the site and have extracted a wealth of information. I figured with how much I was using the forum already that it was time to just join.

No I'm not in the service unlike the majority of people here. My parents grew up here and I just never left. Right now the project is running and driving but I'm sorting out some issues. The stock Nikki was DUMPING fuel into the engine and leaking everywhere. It also had a high idle issue around 2k rpm's. So I rebuilt the carb and no more fuel issues. Now I'm chasing vacuum leaks.

Ryan - good luck with the sorting out. 2 years with my '86 fc and rely totally on my mechanic for the performance issues, since am old retired fart now, who only has piston background. There is a thread for DC Area Spring Road Trip 2016 currently. Goes out of Gainesville, VA. Voting on poll for dates currently, looks like will be weekend of 4/30-5/1. Nice group of mostly RX7 guys. Care for a drive ? Bill

Aw man. I'm already taking off the 21st-25th to go to the annual Jazz Fest in New Orleans. I just started a new weekend job and I don't think they would let me take two weeks off in a row haha. Yeah I see what you're saying though. I have mostly a piston engine background. I worked professionally as a service tech around 5 years until I decided to go back to school. I've always had a rotary interest though. It's like trying to learn to work on cars all over again. I did manage to get the car to run right yesterday though. The throttle shaft was sticking open.
