Sounds like a good project.
Do they offer those big blocks in aluminum?
It's been said that an LS1 weights as much as a fully dressed turbo rotary, so those swaps don't upset the handling too much.

BTW, we've got some purists on this board. They may flame you. Please do not get involved in a flame war. Just pay them no mind and let the mods handle it from there.

some progress made

well ive about got the full size big block radiator mounted (tall order) as the big block rad is mounted as far forward as i can get it .i removed the 2 inch tube in the front that mounts the horns and the res.return tube for the power steering pump it looks like i now have around 36 inches to the lip on the firewall to the dowl on the water pump.(the big block is 32 inches long rear mounting flange to water pump.had to box in the frame and remove almost an inch section on each side to make room fo the tanks of the radiator .the bottom of the rad. will be even with the front spoiler (well a lil up in the air )the mount will be even though . there is a big difference in width of the bbc compared to the small block .leaves only 4 inches a side clearence for manifolds or headers.i will get er done in time ---jason
