Repairing seat covers

Anyone replaced the covers on the fd yet and if so how hard are they usually? Seems the ad mentions heat as well as some special wrench but that's it. I would pull the seats out and just do it inside during the winter most likely but don't want to try if it truly is something out of range.

You live in Maryland so you should make a trip to ESH Upholsterers. They have done many RX-7 seats and can recover in alcantera or replace the skins etc. I've seen their work and it's excellent. You can check them out on Facebook and they are also a vendor on here.

They make some replacement interior parts no longer available new from Mazda so you should know who they are if you don't already.

^Absolutely agree. Austin and Alex over at ESH are very good at their craft, They've recovered seats for me for multiple FDs and my vert FC and the results have been amazing, better than I could've imagined. Check them out for sure

Yea I had and although the price matches the quality they perform, looking for a more economic way as I found some nice covers for around 400 with genuine leather. I guess I really just wanted to know people that have done it themselves as I always want to do other things. Seems like besides the covers, I would just need hog pliers with the rings and a heat gun and patience.
