Installing 2002 Protege Radio in FD

On the 2002 protege radio, does anyone know what (wire/pin) is used for the radio back-lighting? The lighting for the (clock/station) display works and so does the dimmer. I just can't get the backlighting to work. I am using an aftermarket
harness for the radio. See this link for reference.

I'm gonna decade-bump this one. I have the Miata NB radio, same issue. If anyone has a solution on how to get the backlighting to work, please post here. The aftermarket harness does not seem to have a pin/wire for illumination.

Isnt this because the FD has a negative pulsed ground signal instead of a positive signal for the dashlighting? I would need to do more research on it, but I seem to remember something about that.

I think you are right. I found another thread on the wiring. Still doesn't light up. I did find that the Clock Display doesn't light up when you turn on the parking lights, and turns back on when you turn off the parking lights. I think I've given up working on the stereo/sound system lighting, it's nothing major compared to the rest of the car. I've attached the diagram here for future reference.
