Interior! Finally!

I've been looking for quite a while for a really tidy FD interior to put in my FD. When I brought her, she was completely gutted inside & had a very small red bucket seat & a stock R1 suede seat.
Earlier this week I found a FD that been in an accident, which had destroyed the front end, so I brought up all the innards . Boot plastics, carpets, Rear seats, front seats - etc etc etc.
Any idea what model FD came with these seats? The car looked like an R2 (dual oil coolers etc..But it also had a rear wiper. Its hard to tell what year too as all her ID plates & reg plates were removed.
The pics didn't come out too great (rubbish camera, it totally changes the colours...), The seats look awesome in person, especially compared to the stock suede seats that come with the R2. The car had only done 14k miles, its a shame a young dude decided to drive it into a wall .
I'm going back next saturday - To pilfer the dashboard. The last owner of my FD decided it was a good idea to put glue on the dash surface & melt it...
Ignore the yellow wire with the retro switch, its only a temp switch to the fan relays, and will be replaced when my front fog switch arrives . Excuse the dirty drivers foot well .

Anyway...PICS!

Looks great! Show the *before* pics too if you have them. I'd like to get an idea of what you started with.

Thanks!

I will see if I have any, it was basically nothing interior wise except the dash, the two seats mentioned in the first post and the front carpet. Its so quiet in there now, even with a full 4" exhaust .

Thanks Gordan,

I'm not sure what model the car was to be honest. She was bone stock, in immaculate condition (except for the fact it was crashed). No engine mods etc. She had dual oil coolers, rear wiper, no passenger airbag. So I'm not sure what model it was, although it was defiantly a Japanese import, as the import papers were still on the floor!

The interior still needs a little work. I'm considering leather coating everything, as now is a good time if I'm taking the dash out. I also need to replace the steering wheel & purchase the spirit-r shift boot and parking brake boot & handle. I'm keeping the FEED shifter ****. It should look nice when finished .

I just finished swapping the dashboard over. Thought I would share some pics

Heres some pics of the damage on the dash that came out.

I stripped them both down as far as possible and built one dash using all the best bits. The rusty metal support behind looked untidy, so I wire brushed it down and painted it with red oxide (Awesome stuff). It was interesting to see the amount of crap added to the wiring harness by the previous owners, I got rid of 2/3rd s of the wires in the area behind the head unit.
I sealed all the vent pipe joins to prevent any air from leaking out. I'm not sure how much this will help, but seems I probably wont ever take the dash out again, it seemed like a good idea.

Pic of the new dash going in:

Pics when all pieced back together, looks much tidier!

I moved the Defi Link2 into the glove box, as I never use the glove box and it all looks tidier hidden away. I also wired up a cigarette lighter socket...I've been meaning to do this for a while. Useful for powering the sat nav etc.

Random interior snaps:

Thanks! It still needs a good clean, then it should look a fair bit tidier

Not one . I have been putting some sort of interior tape (Similar to the stock stuff, but thicker) on the touching hidden edges, works perfectly so far, I would recommend it.

The seats are only temporary now...As I've seen some carbon RZ's I like . It should match okay, as the exterior is changing to titanium met soon (Full FEED body kit!). Then its A-Spec 500r conversion...Talk about a money pit....

Thanks

Most of the bodywork is fitted already. I'm waiting on rear fenders & a new bonnet, then I'm ready for spray.

Fitted the switches. The FEED driving/fog lights are now in the center console with an oem fog switch.

I had to think a fair bit about where to put the switch for the fan relays. I decided on the map pocket as its out of the way and out of sight. It looks almost oem, as if its meant to be there . This particular switch came with the FEED combo lights.
The wires to it cannot be seen, they are run through a protective tube used for my central locking system and then behind the door card.

Made up an ally duct for my IC as I had some spare time. Forgot to take pics till it was fitted though I'm afraid. Although the SMIC will be switched out in the near future, most likely for a FMIC to go with the 500r .
