Time for upgrade from E6k Ideas?
Hello, it has been a while. I now have her rebuilt and running again but think it is a good idea to upgrade E6k, stock Coils and maybe the hall sensor to a nice trigger wheel. Ever since I went e6k 10 years ago she has always been temperamental with misfires and blown injector drivers so I am hoping things are better by now. Just like it to run clean all the time up to 18 20 psi. I have a feeling I will be talking to Chris soon.....what haltech, coils, sensor to get. Some sort of afr auto tune would be sweet. Thxs
Set Up
S5
T72 16-20lbs
Street port, studded 12.7mm, ALS seals
850 primaries, 2000 secondary's Areomotive 1000 pump
Hall sensor
Stock Coils and HKS twin
Wideband PLX 0-5v
NO ac, ps, emissions to control.

I went from a E6K to a PS1000 (wish I had the money for a PS2000), with a pre made harness, everything from Chris Ludwig. Installation was painless, and the PS1000 ROCKS! I was a bit concerned/stressed with the learning curve going from the GUI interface from the E6K to the PS1000, but once you get the hang of it, its soooo much better!

It lives!
Fumbling through the NSP Haltech 1500, it idles and timing is close where it needs to be.
Trying to figure out timing lock, but idle is around 20 btdc
The KPa map sensor is messing with me...need psi
Just good to hear that sound again.
Lots to learn for sure.

you can change the units to anything you want under the preferences then unit options,
timing lock is click on the ignition tuning on the left and you can lock it there

Found the lock. Checked the timing to be spot on. Have had instructions for 20 years for what timing marks are for my pulley. Also physicality checked TDC though plug holes accounting for the slight offset of leading and trailing. Good to have spare rotor and housing to muck around with so I could make a device to measure TDC. The Leading hole is about 50 thousands deeper than trailing if anyone is curious. The screw driver and apex seal method to measure TDC are a little off.
Glad I also checked my injectors b4 boosting....thought the 2nd stage was 2000cc , turns out to be Bosch 0289150846 1600cc....Set the duty on primaries low to 10 percent to see if they kick in just revving-work great, so set them back up
Took her for a drive to datalog for the trims and do some virgin boost. I must say, I really did miss her xoxoxo lol
Wastegate opening around 6psi. Runs a bit lean after the transition of 2nd stage injection. Thinking I need to adjust dead time for 1600s. Also STFT is not always kicking in or building a LTFT map. I wonder if delay is too long or gain set too low for o2 control. Also need to go back and check my disable correction maps to see if it is conflicting with the controls.
What are common dead times to use for 1000 and 1600 injectors , assuming there is such a thing?
Also what do you like for gains and delay on your O2 control?
Starting to have fun again!

She is running beautifully.
I found a list of dead times for both my 160lb injectors remembering they are used in fords and also my RC 1000s . Site was called phearable . net , Not a plug, don't know them, just useful data.

Yes, whole new car with NSP
Was a worth while change after 20 years with E6k.
Have to bite off little chunks at a time or, it becomes overwhelming but,
haltech youtube videos are good and members on this site are very helpful.
