Question Thermofan Settings (FD)

I was wondering what people have their fans set to???

I have a SMIC (with a single turbo) which means my radiator is still diagonal. BIG difference (heat wise) when I pop the hood after some runs...The engine feels a lot cooler than when I had the twins. Right now I have a turn on at 190F and a turn off at 180F. Stock is around 221F (no electrical load)...My cool running engine is probably at the expensive of my intake temps (i.e. heat soaking my SMIC). I'd like a happy medium between engine temps and air intake temps.

I plan on running some experiments once I get everything in order and some more tuning done...just wondering what other SMIC FD's are setting their fan controls at. WI isn't set up yet, I'd like to get a better baseline before too many variables are introduced.

Thanks for reading. (please don't suggest FMIC...I like the stock exterior look)

once i get mine back on the road, I will use the thermo settings to run the Rad fans on high, and the Ic thermo to run with a small fan on the back of the IC

I have two spal fans on my radiator. They come on based on water temp at 185 F and off at 180 F and one at 195 F off at 185 F. I also have two small spal fans on the intercooler which are based on air temps. Frist one is on at 90 F off at 85 and the second is on at 100 off at 90 F. Neadless to say once your running it hard, both the IC fans are always on.
P.S. This is in a sand rail

Mr. LV - very cool! Thanks for the info. Put I assume, it doesn't hold much relation since...the enviroments of the engine is different. I haven't thought of a IC fan...I'd like to keep a simple bay, and would think a fan might bottleneck at speed?!?! I don't know really. FAWK, I want a rotary sand rail!!

MrRx - not really the info I was looking for, more data oriented, but thanks to you also.

Perhaps you can run the radiator fan through on of the PWM outputs set for the IC fan and set a value for air temp. This is assuming you have a front mount?

LOL, no I have a SMIC (first post)...that's why I'm looking for someone elses data to compare. I'll get my own data one day.

I want my engine a good warm temp without my IC being totally heat soaked...I do have an IC sprayer and plan to run water injection after baseline tuning.

Just wondering if anyone had useful data I could start from. My engine has no problems staying cool [under 200F]...once motor is broke in, I'll start conducting experiments weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!
