This was posted already , you can do a search . To answer your question I'll tell you what I did . Firstly you have to think of these gauges as being separate from the E6K , they are powered from the cars harness and work off the sensors installed by MAZDA (speedoand water temp.) .
First find the piece of original harness that plugged into the tranny and re-install it removing the rest that is not required , when you cut the harness you will have a hot wire and two ground wires , make sure to ground theseproperly 'cause you will get erratic on / off operation of your gauges , the hot wire is un-used or like me you can use it to power your BAC valve.
Plug the other end with the blue connector back into the original jack which is located where the stock ECU used to be , after this your speedo will operate .
Your tach should be constantly powered up now , after grounding the harness , mine used to flash on and off and the needle spin around wildly , all this stopped after it was grounded . All you need now is a signal , you can get it from the AUX out , or as I did , splice into the ignition outsignal wire from the E6K (to the ignitor ) I used this because I wanted to use my aux out for something else , some may advise against this , but the tach . circuit is already high resistance and shouldnt affect the output signal to any appreciable extent , mine is working flawlessly. Remove your instrument panel and connect the signal wire to the tach input , this can be found using a workshop manual or as I did allow an auto electrician who done it before to do it again .I also took the time to get the water temp working while I was back there, the sender for the gauge is located on the left side of the engine under the oil filter.
