omg tach!? haltech E8 tach problems
so we hooked up my trailing coil tonight finally, it was unhooked because we were convinced it was firing incorrectly earlier (turns out it wasnt, but thats another story). so anyway we get the coil working correctly and decided to hook up the tach. there are two wires left for the tach signal, a gray and a yellow from the trailing coil. we couldnt find which was which so we did trial and error with both wires. with the yellow, it read PERFECTLY until around 1500-2000 rpms, when all the sudden it read double. is this some emission signal or some other weird thing that doubles at a certain RPM? so then i test hook it up with the gray wire coming from the coil, reads perfect all the way! cool. so i solder it into the connector, start the car again, no tach signal all the sudden. lame. so i decide to hardwire it, direct solder it to the tach wire skipping the connector, still no tach signal. the trailing plugs are still firing this whole time. is the gray wire the correct one to use? did i kill my tach? or some chip inside the coil that sends the tach signal? do i just suck at soldering? any help is apprectiated!

AS I recall from the E8 that I installed, the wiring codes are the same for the K as they are for the E8. You can use the Hitman installation for the wiring.
AS far as the splitmap. I have never seen what Ted is talking about, but any base map you use would not have any drastic changes in the split map.
My guess is, its a wiring problem or you need to adjust the trigger.
