Odd Readings - E6K Online Mode
Hello,
I recently rebuilt/put everything back together and upon hooking the laptop up to test a few settings I came across something rather odd...
All of the variables -- except for battery voltage and coolant temperature -- were bouncing around randomly even with the ignition off. Car started, same symptoms, and (this is what really confused me) with the serial cable unplugged from the laptop, it was STILL doing it.
I guessed that it was something to do with the E6K software I had (I downloaded the one directly from Haltech's website and was using it on a bootable DOS disk on Windows XP) and have prepared a couple of more floppies to try out with different software.
The car is having trouble idling and has a bit of a stutter when you give it a little bit of throttle, which is why I was originally messing with the stuff. I have a base map that BDC created for me and it got the car idling BETTER, but it still eventually died.
I also noticed that my boost guage was reading very, very high vacuum.. almost atmospheric pressure. Vacuum leak possibly?
Thanks for any input!

Also, i think you mean very vey LOW vaccum, close to atmospheric, since high vaccum means you're closer to -30 psi (or full vacuum). What was the reading exactly? -10, -5?
Maybe you forgot to wire up all your vehicle's grounds? and something is a miss?

And yes, low vacuum, sorry 'bout that. :P I couldn't get an exact reading, but I'd say inbetween -10 and -15.
Unfortunately, the guy whose shop it's at decided not to tell me that he was going to be gone for the whole weekend and I couldn't get it out of there, so I won't be able to mess around with it until Monday... I'm a little pissed about that...
I'll try these floppies and see if I -- maybe -- just downloaded the wrong software. The .exe was called E6Kdemo, though, so maybe it is wrong?
Thanks. =)
