Question MSD DIS-2 and Haltech

I have a Haltech E6X and will be using a direct fire setup. I am using 2 6AL's for the trailing. I was wondering if I could use a DIS-2 for the leading with a MSD 8224 coil pack. If so, to what wire on the coil interface would the ignition 1 wire from the Haltech connect to? Thanks.

No need for the DIS-2. A single 6A box will work.

With an E6-X-->

1 X MSD 6AL on the leading.
1 X MSD DIS-2 for the trailing.

The 6AL would be wired to the 8224 coil which require the 8870 coil interface.
On the coil interface the outer two wires which are the white wires are connected to the MSD 6AL's orange and black wires that normally go to the coil. Also the polarity of the white wires on the coil interface does not matter. The orange and black wire can go to any of the white wires. The black wires on the interface are not used for your application.
The ignition1(leading) output from the Haltech would be connected to the white trigger wire on the MSD 6AL.
Offcourse double check the MSD instructions for the coil interface.

Red face

I am sorry,...to answer slo's question, I am running wasted spark, I didnt mean direct fire, sorry...and to clear things up I already have 2 6AL's on the trailing coils so I guess my question is, Can I use another 6 AL with the 8224 coil and interface or do I need something else?? Using the E6X I believe I only have 3 ignition outputs so I would have to use wasted spark, right? But reading the Haltech manual for the E6X says I have 4 ign outputs..I am sorry to be so confused/confusing...any help is GREATLY appreciated Thank you.

If you're running two seperate non-stock coils for trailing without the stock ignitor with built-in toggle you should set the Haltech up in direct fire mode. Channel 1 is for leading which will fire the single 6A/8224 coil combo in wastespark. Channel 2 for trailing #1 and channel 3 for trailling #2.

Wastespark is not a Haltech mode of operation. It simply refers to the use of a single dual post coil (the 8224 for example) to fire two plugs on a pair of grouped cylinders or rotors.

Clear as mud?
