just a quick question!!!
hi, i was just wondering if the haltech is like the microtech, that you have to have the computer to be compatible with the car, what i mean is that in a microtech you can't run a computer that was in a 4 cylinder on a rotary unless you send the ecu to be remaped to the specific application that in this time is a 2 rotor. i just want to know because someone is selling me an F10 on 600$$ obo.

A haltech can run almost any engine (depending on the haltech model). No sending it anywhere to get re programed.
If your application is turbo, its best to get one that does full ign mapping also. The F10 is fuel only.

An LT8 will have basically the same features as an E6X, but the E6X has a few more additional/auxiliar outputs, and for virtually the same price. Furthermore, the Haltechs and be adjusted to run on practically all kinds of brands of engines, minous a very limited few with very strange trigger types.
Also, an F10, like Slo said, is only fuel control. I personally dislike the use of fuel only ECUs because better power can be made being able to control the ignition and the fuel. I say "better power can be made" because to put it quite simply, a drag car will make the same top end power with a fuel only ECU, but the low-mid range will suffer, since you will have a locked ignition with a fixed timing value that will only be ideal at a certain rpm/load point.
At any rate, a new F10X goes for 800-850 dollars with sensors (including MAP).

That's why we rag on the Microtechs, cause if you want to run it on a totally different engine, it's a $300+ bill and a couple weeks!
