Haltech Elite 1500 Pricing
#34
Nothing official but I finally got the beta firmware today. It'll be end of the week before we get a chance to run it. Everything looks just as you would expect. No big surprised. When we got the beta tester when the Elite 2500 was initially released, Haltech released the ECU to the public less than 2 weeks later. So, hopefully, it won't be long.

Ran a 2-rotor on a 2500 today. Owner has been running a Sport ECU. I remoted in to plug in his I/O settings, zeroed the timing, and it fired right up first hit. He was driving the car on the street in about an hour. Most of that time was spent showing him the new stuff in the software.

I know you have to at least had a look?
Does it in fact allow for proper tuning of the base map and have enrichment/ enleanment parameters for staging and unstaging?

I honestly haven't. The car is in Philly and I'm here in Louisville. I'm chatting with the owner now trying to get a log of the secondaries coming online to see how it's working. Other than saying he plugged it in, confirmed the timing, and went for a drive without doing one keystroke of fuel tuning, I can't say much else. It's probably not a fair test either. The injectors are 6 x 1600cc but the base pressure is 50 psi. So the actual volume is going to be off a little and we have no idea what it actually is without having the injectors tested. He's also running two 1600s per channel for secondaries. So is the volume 3200, more, less? What does having two injectors on each channel do to dead times? In the end, VE makes it easier to get the engine started and running the first time, but the injector information is much more critical to the end results than it would be using pulse width mapping.
Define what you would consider proper tuning of a base map? It's VE. It's pretty self explanatory.
There are enrichment settings that are native for staging enrichment. Nothing for coming off staging. That said, with the user defined generic correct maps, you can do anything. And anything is not an exaggeration.
I'm shipping another ECU out Monday that should get some work this week as well. It's going in a relatively stock FD that's daily driven. I'll update with results.

I'm running a MegaSquirt in my truck, so I'm familiar with VE tuning. I like the fact that once it's tuned you can change injectors, input their size and dead times and away you go.
I haven't looked at the tuning software in a while, has it been updated to reflect the changes, or are you using a special issue that's not available publicly?

I wanted to ask and make sure before I jumped the gun, and most of this thread was back before too much was known. Thanks in advance.
