Exclamation e6k no spark or trigger for fuel

so i recently just purchased a 87 turbo 2 with a e6x installed. i am pretty good with wiring and familiar with standalones such as power fc and microtech but have never owned or used a haltech. when i purchased the car the guy only new of no fuel pressure. i found that the relay from the fuel pump was not getting the triggered ground from the ecu therefore causing the fuel pump to not run. i ran a separate wire to ground the relay and the fuel pump works and therefore have fuel pressure. when trying to start the tach needle is not moving at all indicating no spark. i also pulled a plug wire and grounded a spark plug to check for spark and nothing. any ideas? would you consider the ecu to be bad since it is not supplying the triggered ground for the fuel pump relay

laptop needs to connect, and then you need to see rpm signal during cranking. i would check to see if the ecu is getting power. if the ecu was installed with the haltech fuse/relays there is a 3 amp fuse that powers the ecu in there, in addition to whatever fuse is in the Mazda circuit that it may or may not be hooked too.

Ok may have found the problem. The ecu relay seems to be bad causing the ecu to not have power. Switched with the fuel pump relay and now I can connect to the laptop. Question though anyone know if I can replace the relay with a different brand or number? No one local has the same Bosch part #.

Yes, any relay will work . ( as long as you match it to the haltech/bosch in out )

great news found it was in fact just the ecu relay causing all my problems. drove it to work today and it did pretty well. going to suck all the gas out this evening due to previous owner running 40.1 premix ratio!!

what are you guys running for your coolant temp fuel maps as when it is cold usually first in the morning it takes about 5-6 times of turning it over to finally start and is extremely rich
