common running temps

Just wondering what temps everyone is seeing, the best I can get is 92.1 Celcius,
I'm still working on it, hoping to get better than that. I have full downpipe and turbo wrap, bottom shield, oem thermostat, 50/50 mix, blah, blah, just curious if that is still too hot since thats about 200 F, thanks

Well 50/50 is unnecessary UNLESS you commonly see temps well below the freezing mark. 25% will freeze at around 15 deg Fahrenheit and will provide plenty of protection against corrosion and enough lubrication for the water pump. In general 180-200deg F is normal... Some think that upwards of 220 is okay and anything over 220 is bad.....

I had a brand new OEM thermostat I drilled a few 1/8 bypass holes, added water wetter, and put two new rad caps on,today the highest I saw was 89.7C, which is 193F.
It was about 15 degrees cooler today, so I am not sure if its what I changed or if its just cooler weather, but I am just going to keep working on my ducting. Does anyone keep a good solid 185 or 188 F ?

Thanks in advance

there is no reason to keep the temps down that low, no reason what so ever. As long as you stay below 210 on a regular basis everything should be fine. Occasionly jaunts up to and over 220 do no damage.

Im some extreme race car conditions, some race car guys see 230-240, which is scary. But if you plan on rebuilding alot, then I guess its suitable. 220 for street use is pushing it, your coolong system has something wrong, and needs to be checked. You should see temps of 185-210 on the street

If you see 220 every once in a while, as long as nothing actually if wrong with your cooling system it will do no damage. Though I agree for normal use 210 is the limit

and another thing, if you have the haltech metric temp sensor, allot of people have had those read high, about 7-10 degrees. I have a decent gauge, and my gauge is still reading around 180 when the haltech is saying 190.

I run a "cored" thermostat, and once the engine temps come up to "normal" temps, it doesn't get below 180F at any time...unless ambient is really cold.
Here in Hawaii, ambients barely go below 70F.

This is highly dependent on how good your cooling system is, but I don't anything wrong with your numbers.
