Well we sure started out strong!

I'm gonna let this stew a little bit longer to try and get that number to at least 20. Tell your friends! Write a letter to Santa! Buy one for your favorite tuner!

Let's get 11 more people on board and we'll make some magic!

It's aesthetics - I'll give you that. But so is polishing an UIM, installing LED lights and countless other things we do to our cars. It's only a waste if you don't love it.

Does this weigh less than the 2 hood struts from Evo-R/Greddy/etc?
Not that it matters, but just wondering

I've never owned a set of those, let alone weighed them... Unless those are less than 3.5oz each, I have to imagine this hood prop weights less.

Great idea and props for the initiative.

You should start a thread to brainstorm idea(s) for another GB to fabricate another (non-complex or large) piece which could benefit in weight savings and strength. I would say under-body chassis bracing but the OEM ones are pretty light and solid.

We've been tossing around some more intricate ideas. This is more of a dry run to make sure we can handle the bulk production, heat treating in bulk, the logistics, the shipping, etc.

That said, you WILL see another thread asking for ideas soon. I'm just trying not to cannibalize this project.

If you have ideas - shoot me a PM!

I would say sell a bulletproof hood rod clip holder with it to. Or at least recommend it.

Good info. I will ask Ray what we can get these in bulk for. Maybe we'll offer them in the sale to make sure everyone has everything they need.

Also noticed the stock rod has rubber bumpers on it, I guess to prevent it from bouncing around and making noise or damaging paint. Would probably be easy to swap them over, but I wonder if there are people in need?
