Engine/Carb advice needed
I've been restoring and rebuilding a 1985 GS with a extra large street ported 12a that's been fully rebuilt.
I tried the search function before posting this.
I've been trying to get it to run on a stripped down Nikki carb but have run into some issues.
As far as timing is concerned, I have the timing at dead on where it needs to be. I have good spark and decent compression. I also have plenty of gas getting to the carb and filling the bowls (also fully rebuilt carb). When I stomp on the gas pedal the accelerator pump doesn't seem to be working. I can only manage to get the motor running for a few seconds at a time on ether or squirting gas in by hand and the motor eventually stalls then doesn't want to start as easily again.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated cause I don't want to dump money into a new carb if I don't have to.
I'll post a video of my symptoms tomorrow.
Thanks!

Look-up Jeff20B on this club site. Has great knowledge and advice on the Nikki carb. I have a 85 GS also under going a slight rebuild. Just purchased from original owner of 32 years. Welcome to the club.
