1983 rx7 won't rev past 4500-5000 rpms

My 1983 Mazda rx7 won't rev past 4500-5000 rpms in gear or in neutral. Also doesn't have much power threw gears and can only accelerate to about 50 mph. Any ideas of what's wrong or how to diagnose?

Check timing? Do you have vacuum lines going to your distributer?

Dirty carb, seized secondary's, bad accelerator pump, timing off, vacuum advance not working, dirty plugs, bad fuel filter.......

Try changing the plugs.
I just got an 82 and it was gutless.
I changed the plugs and the difference was night and day.

Did you resolve this issue? I am having a similar issue with mine. Suggestions have been timing and clogged cat.
