Exclamation WELL...its an ANNOYING PROBLEM

well i finally register my car, and i go to the gas station and guess what? my gas lid won't pop open... and im just pulling and pulling the little lever and still nothing. so i call the guy i bought it from, and hes like
"yea that happened to me a few times just pull the lever harder and if that don't work shimmey the key in between the lid and it should pop open!" tried and failed
i looked up how to remove it, but i wanted to know if there something that could be locking the trunk/gas lid switch(both don't work) also if there are any other ways to get the lid open without well...breaking it

On the 1stgen RX-7's, you can reach under the carpet from the hatch area and the electric solenoid that pops the gas door actually has a bracket welded to it that looks like an "L"...you just hook your finger on it and pull. It mechanically pops the gas lid for you since you're pulling the actual plunger.

Hope that helps since I'm pretty certain you don't have a 1stgen...

how the hell is it on the road without any gas??? I assume it's been sitting for a while, and the previous owner obviously knew what to do with it.
