It pays alright. A lot more than my old job. The search is going alright. I got a couple of friends checking on two FB's for me since this spill takes up all my time. If I don't find a FB shell, i'll start looking for FCs and miatas.
The stroke thing makes since. But it's still because of the configuration that allows them to position the crank that allows for longer stroke. Anywho, power is power. the only thing the matters is how much cubic dollars you're willing to throw at it.
And did that corvette do any track days or passes at the strip?
Everything breaks when you put stress on it. Most NA 13bs last well past 200,xxx miles. just once you put big turbos, you'll run into problems. This is true for almost any engine. Except turbo deisels. those things are badass.
I'm not knocking V8's, they're a tried and true engine. I just desire something else.
A L configured engine produces more torque than a v shaped engine at the same displacement. That's why you see straight 4 cylinder engines instead of v4's. a 1jz (with a nice turbo) can make as much torque as most v8 even though it's 2.5 liters.
But I'm still deciding what to do with the FB. I'm still deciding if i really want a turboII. I could just use that money and make my FB a 11-12 second car. But i want to stay rotary cause i want to get really competitive in SCCA or NASA once i get time and not get out classed because of an engine swap.
