I'm interested. If these are a legitimate 6054 headlight conversion, I may want a set for both my FC and my truck.

On a side note, I hate the fact that this forum is sponsored by a fuckoff group that markets those illegal H4 conversions.

https://www.rx7club.com/members/hidextra-com-133164/

These will be the same as the FD kits we currently make... fxr projectors with optically clear lenses. These do in fact have a solenoid actuated cutoff for high/low and the included harness allows them to function seamlessly with the stock h4 wiring (though you need to hook up the additional 2 grounds and + lead). Yeah the illegal H4 conversion kits are what prompted Dan and I to start this project for our own cars. Its considerably more expensive and is extremely labor intensive to create each kit... but these lights are lightyears beyond anything currently available. The H4 Kits are toys and its sad how many people have bought into the fad.

I will start saving money up for this pretty soon if the production looks like it will get off the ground.

Just to confirm, this is a proper bi-xenon kit, right? I saw in the slideshow on page 1 that it appeared to be a HID low-beam and Halogen high-beam, but on page 2 it says otherwise. If it's a proper Bi-xenon kit, I'm definitely game for it!

If Im reading the post correctly, they are using infiniti FX Bi xenon projectors with an upgraded lens (clearer lense for sharper, more colorful cutoff).

Im interested if I can just have the housings, I allready have hella 35w ballasts, and phillips d2s bulbs... Let me know.

Correct, Infiniti FX projectors are about the most compact bi-xenon you can work with when space is tight (pop-up headlights). I assume the lenses are from The Retrofit Source.

Will these fit any other 6054 (FC-Rectangle) or 6024 (FB-Round) vehicles or are they going to be specific to the RX-7?

There may be other markets for these units if they are more universal... Jeeps, Miata, AE86, trucks...

There's not really a deadline. Basically the deal is that we need to create special molds to construct shrouds which would seal off the back side of the projector (these lights would actually be much more involved than the FD ones we currently make). If we get something like 15-20 people per lamp type then I would make up the molds, but so far the response has been lukewarm at best (though our only exposure thus far has been in this thread).

The economy is bad, there are $75 Chinese "fake" H4 hid kits so people think they can get HID lighting for next to nothing (mis-information which we are combating), and most people dont want to drop 750-800+ on their FC/FB/miata etc. We can do it... but only if a significant number of people actually want it and are willing to follow through. People see the price tag and think "oh but I can get "HID's" for 1/10th that price and they say the light is great" LOL... people just dont know better. The FD HID GB exploded when people saw what we were offering as setups like this would typically sell for EASILY over $1,000

Nope they should basically fit everything (assuming there is enough clearance for the extra length of the projector)

What about Specs on the ballast and lamp housing regarding water resistance and vibration. Considering a second set for my truck which sees offroad duty.

Speaking of fitting other vehicles, you might consider putting an ad on s-series.org. First-gen S10's and S10 Blazers use 6054's and there seems to be a good following there too.

Admins, please don't remove the link, just trying to help this group buy get off the ground by spreading the word to another group of enthusiasts that could REALLY use these lights too. S10/Blazer headlights suck!

I know there are lots of vehicles both these lights would fit. Tons infact... nearly everything up to the early 90's basically. We don't make much off of these at all, and we are a very small business. To start "marketing" them to all of the various car clubs would cost a ton of advertising money and 10x more time than Dan and I have to manage it. While I would "like" to sell 1000 sets of lights, we would need to hire multiple people full time to make them and wouldnt be able to pay them for the man hours it would take as we make so little off each set.

On a spectrum from "doing friends a favor" to "running a profitable business" we are closer to the friends side. To make decent proffit off of these lights they really should be priced over $1K. We're just doing this to get our name out for other products that we make (oil cooler kits, brake lines, etc) and to do the rx7 community a service so they can see well at night (cause I couldn't before I installed these lights).

Durability: HID's are great for off road as there is no filament to break from vibration (ionized xenon gas). As far as OUR housings go, we do our best to make them as robust as possible to vibration and moisture combining 3 different mounting techniques for the projectors. I think if they can make it through transit with fedex they will survive in any environment

Please do.

I'm curious, is there any way that the FD kits would fit in the FB pop-ups, with the FD shrouds? IDK how the FD shrouds are attached, but if they would fit, that would allow us FB guys that are willing to cough up the money to get the FD kit if there isn't enough interest for the FB kit.

Although I am not sure I would buy this any time soon since I plan on going single turbo (saving up money and parts for it atm), but I would be interested. I would have to admit I'm one of those who bought those $75 HID kits to just try out....needless to say they were barely better than expected....and I had low expectations. If you guys had a kit like this for the FD out long ago I would've jumped on it before my turbos went bad.

I don't know how soon I could afford these but I would love to get a set for the FC. Just gonna have to keep an eye on this see where it goes and try to set aside some money in addition to getting everything else on my car up to par.
