Arrow GB: '93-95 AND '99-Spec Sakebomb Garage Oil Cooler Kits!

Sakebomb Garage, in conjunction with FDNewbie Imports is proud to present: The best damn twin oil cooler kits available!!

  • Maximum cooling efficiency to protect our already hot running motors, and eliminate overheating concerns by taking significant load off of the water cooling system.
  • Direct bolt-on, with no fabrication, modification, or custom work involved
  • OEM look and fit
  • Higher quality components/brackets, yet still more affordable than the competition.
  • Two cooler sizes: Different oil-cooler capacities to fit your car's cooling requirements, and your budget.
  • Coolers can be swapped out at any time to upgrade capacity, and coolers will work with '93+, '99 spec, and some aftermarket bumpers.
  • Over-Engineered: Pressure and temperature ratings for ALL of our lines and fittings vastly exceed the maximum pressure and temperature ever generated by the oiling system, to ensure durability and longevity.

Recently we have received quite a few requests for oil cooler kits. Despite the lack of a website, formal pricing structure (till now), and any advertising besides word of mouth, they have been constantly trickling out the door since we got the kits finalized. My initial intention was to run a GB to launch the 99 kits. Unfortunately I got sidetracked by life, and Dan kept getting requests for the kits (and selling them)… so I never got around to putting a Group Buy together on them…. TILL NOW

Our last production run of parts has been moving out the door faster than we had expected. We currently have only *5* 93-95 sets left, and *5* 99’ sets left. That’s it! So without further delay, we’re going to do a GB on the last 10 kits, first come first serve. The GB discount will be a FLAT $75 off of any kit you choose. The GB discount basically amounts to getting you half of the way to the TRACK setup with 25-row coolers, more than halfway to the 99 kit, or a free upgrade to stainless steel lines. That’s about the best we can do for a GB, and considering our kits are ALREADY priced significantly lower than the competition, have a better fit, stronger brackets, and only use the highest quality components, we feel that you will not find a comparable kit for these prices. Well, actually, “I” feel that you will not find a comparable kit PERIOD just check around and you’ll see what I mean. The reason we created them in the first place was from personal experience with the other setups currently available.

All of our kits include:

- Black Setrab oil coolers
-
Mocal 180 degrees oil thermostat
-
Stainless steel and Aluminum mounting brackets for oil coolers and thermostat
-
Stainless steel mounting hardware

- All lines (rubber/stainless/nylon racing) come pre-assembled and pressure tested with subtle black and silver Mocal fittings.

-Aluminum -10AN Spanner (Wrench) included to tighten down your fittings.

The following is our formal (non-GB) pricing for the oil cooler kits. We tried to simplify things as much as possible. Basically you start with the base kit price, and add on any options you choose:

Street Kit (Base) $960
Comes with twin 19-row Setrab coolers, High-Pressure Black rubber hose (OEM look) with high quality black and silver Mocal end fittings pre-installed. Included with every kit is a -10AN aluminum spanner (wrench) to safely tighten the aluminum fittings without damaging them. Everything you need to install the coolers on your car is included, down to every last nut, bolt, washer, or spacer... and even the wrench!

*As our brackets are designed to accept both 19-row or 25-row coolers, they can be upgraded to the larger capacity coolers at any time!

Track Kit + $150
Upgrade to 25-row Setrab cores. Even higher cooling capacity then our twin 19 row kit. We have reports of customers staying out ALL DAY at the track without any sign of rising temps! This setup really is cool (sorry I had to) Don’t cut your track day short. Also 20b and high-HP 13b cars should consider this setup.

‘99 Spec/Aftermarket Bumper + $130
Those of you running a '99 spec or aftermarket bumper will need to upgrade to this redesigned kit so that the coolers clear the bumper and can make better use of the larger inlets. (Please see the *note below)

Stainless Steel Braided Lines
+ $65
Highest pressure and temp rating of all the lines we offer (and they look great!) but care must be taken when routing them as the SS braids can wear into anything they come in contact with.

Nylon Braided Racing Lines + $115
Black Nylon reinforced lines, ultra lightweight, high pressure and temp rating (and they look great!). These nylon lines have the benefits of braided reinforcement (like SS lines) but without the abrasion problems and lack of flexibility associated with SS lines.

GB Discount: Take $75 off your total purchase!

*A note about the 99 oil cooler upgrade, and about aftermarket bumpers.

Cost: Unfortunately, the ‘99 coolers needed to be repositioned for the 99 bumper and rebar, and special fittings were required to then clear the headlights. In addition there is a more complex bracket setup required to relocate it to the proper position. For this reason the price of the 99 kit is significantly higher. This is directly due to the cost of the extra parts... we actually take a loss on the 99 “upgrade” for this reason, but it was the only way to make them fit the 99 bumper, be positioned to make more efficient use of the larger bumper inlets, and also work with the stock 99 fog lights.

Aftermarket bumpers: We also engineered a small amount of adjustability into the brackets in hopes that people with aftermarket bumpers could adjust the position of the oil coolers to work with their bumper. We obviously could not test the coolers with every aftermarket bumper out there (so we cant guarantee 100% that they will fit without modification) but more than likely, there is enough adjustability to fit the majority of aftermarket bumpers out there. You have an even better chance if your bumper uses the 99 lights or similar, as those bumpers were typically designed to work with the stock 99 cars’ oil cooler setup (which is basically how ours fits).

Obligatory Legal disclaimer: This oil cooler kit is intended for off road use only.

Payment Info: Please add your forum username, shipping zip-code, and any kit options you want to the list below. Within 24hrs please submit either a payment in full, or a $100 non-refundable deposit to reserve your spot in the GB.

Deposit: Please paypal us a $100.00 deposit to hold your spot in the GB. At the end of the GB (or anytime before) payment must be submitted. We realize that it can take some time to come up with a payment, which is why we are willing to work with you... but, we want to make sure tire-kickers dont flood the GB list as there are limited spots available, hence the deposit.

Payment in Full: If you are ready to go, we are ready to process your order. We only charge actual shipping rates, but to do this we need your zip to calculate shipping. In the future we hope to automate this process but for now we have to do it the old fashioned way

How to make a payment: PayPal normally charges us a 3% fee for using their services. So this additional cost doesn't get passed on to you (in the form of inflated product pricing) we give our customers the option of avoiding this charge. To avoid this charge, please submit payment as an 'e-check'... - PayPal E-Check Tutorial: CLICK HERE
If you choose to not submit payment/deposit using e-check, please add 3% to your payment.

If I read the instruction correctly a full payment should be made prior to processing the order!!! Is that correct? If yes then it would be cheaper and easier to just make the full payment! And 1 last question, do you have an ETA for completion of the order, and shipping charge to 91748?
thanks

If you would like to pay in full with an e-check, then that would be the cheapest option. If you need your coolers sooner then later, I can ship it out early if you pay in full.

Does the regular kit work with other aftermarket bumpers besides the Feed's?

Or does the 99 kit work with older stock bumpers, as well?

The only aftermarket bumper that the kit has been seen on is the FEED. I can't really comment on fitment. Most aftermarket bumpers sit further forward then oem. I can fairly confidently say that either kit will work with an aftermarket bumper, you'll just need to make your own ducting.

Rotary Rocket! you have a PM

Hey Scott, just replied to your PM. Which bumper are you using? As we haven't been able to test the kit on every bumper (there are just too many) we can only give our best guess as to the fitment with aftermarket bumpers. Here's a little more info to either help you decide or confuse you further :

~A bumper with 99 front signals was (most likely) designed to work with the stock 99 coolers, and therefore should fit (better) with the 99 kit. I should qualify this by saying that the 93 kit may however fit very well with your aftermarket bumper (such as the FEED).

~Most aftermarket bumpers have a larger footprint than stock (extend down and out further) so I would expect less interference in general with those bumpers. [Keep in mind, the 99 cooler kit was designed with MORE clearance on the sides and bottom (compared to 93+), as the 99 bumper and rebar made us push the kit in and up slightly].

~Most aftermarket bumpers have enlarged oil cooler openings... the 99 kit takes better advantage of this extra airflow as the cooler sits further inboard putting more of the cooler in direct airflow.

~The 99 Spec kit is engineered to be slightly adjustable (pitch, rotation, alignment) which may help with aftermarket fitment

~The 99 Spec upgrade is significantly more expensive, and we make nothing off of it... price is all due to specialized fittings and brackets. It's a personal decision/judgment call which mounting solution you want for an aftermarket bumper. Hopefully knowing the difference in how they mount will help you make a better informed choice.

Take Away Comments for Aftermarket Bumper Fitment:

  • 93+ MAY work just fine
  • '99 is more expensive
  • '99 coolers sit slightly IN and UP compared to 93+
  • '99 is slightly adjustable (pitch/rotation/alignment) for tight fitments
  • '99 will see slightly more direct-airflow with enlarged bumper openings

Thanks a lot, Scrub and RotorMotor, for detailed info!

I think I have much better idea on what to get now.

Most likely, I might eventually go with Shine's Feed bumper anyways. Thanks.

Unfortunately, we are currently out of spots for the 93+ Kits. I received a number of requests this weekend for additional people to be squeezed into the GB. As we will have to do another production run, we will only be able to offer GB pricing once a set number of kits have been reached.

I am opening a "waiting list" for additional 93+ cooler kits below... please add your name to the waiting list if you are interested. We will need to reach AT LEAST 5 kits in order to apply GB pricing. Otherwise standard pricing will apply.

Tire Kickers!

As the price of FD's has been going down, the number of immature owners wanting to own "mad-quick" FD's has been increasing. Along with the cheap prices for FD's has come a new crowd of people wanting even cheaper parts (just look at the numbers of members slapping "ebay parts" on their cars today vs a few years ago). This has given rise to a serious neglect of many FD's, even more "replica" parts being produced, and a significant increase in "tire kickers" looking for parts at half the price or simply just filling time window-shopping on the forum.

How does this all relate to this particular GB you might ask? Well, we have noticed this recurring problem with members not following through after adding their name to group buys. This hurts both the sellers and other members in the GB. This particular GB has a limited number of spots, and as a result we decided that a $100 non-refundable deposit should be submitted to reserve a spot. Regretably, we were too trusting and did not strictly enforce this policy. As a result, I had to turn away two members who wanted kits immidiately (as the list was full) only to subsequently have a couple members whom we did not collect the deposit from drop out.

From this point on: PLEASE DO NOT ADD YOUR NAME TO THE LIST WITHOUT SUBMITTING A DEPOSIT Sorry to have to do this. I dont like making rules, and especially dont like having to enforce them, but it's become too frustrating dealing with dead beat buyers

On a happier note, there are now two available spots for 93+ kits. Enjoy.

-Heath
