Ho-ray i got a tig

I could have posted this in the lounge but figured the people in here would appreciate this more

i landed a steal on craigslist, a 250amp Miller ac/dc tig with a 3gal watercooler, also came with a rollaway cabinet filled with lenes, tungstun, clamps, a helmet, tones of filler rod etc all for $1595.00

Being it needs 100amp 230v service im setting it up at work (of course they didnt turn that down) I just need a bottle and to wire it in tommorow and hopfully i can start welding scrap together at work

First few projects are to make a dolly for it and a welding table, then hopfully i can start making stuff for the car

Holy crap! "Steal" is not even the correct word. You held them up anally!

Great find though. What an awesome machine. Not sure if you've used a water cooled torch before, but it's pure heaven on long beads on aluminum.

I didnt even talk them down, i didnt even bother trying. Nice guys use to use it to build inclosers for their CNC retrofit setups for manual milling machines, the way they talked about it it doesnt even sound like its got alot of hours on it

Ive actualy never tig'd before, so the 'blessing' of the watercooled tourch wont really be evident untill the day i have to use a tig without it

It's bout time you got a tig! Now you can have some real fun. Nice machine, though the syncrowaves suck down quit a bit of power compared to a newer inverter type. Either way that machine will weld anything you could need.
