Got the bill from the paintshop... 153.09 euro for 1 (one) liter of paint, 61 euro for the paperwork (checking the car, counting out how much damage... all the stuff involved with the damage claim to the insurance, about 30 minutes work...) and 52 euro work.
Total something like 270. He didn't make me pay the VAT on the 61 and 52 euro, so if I refused to pay for the work, I couldn't save much money, as it'd mean VAT on the 61 euro (21%)... So in the end I paid. I had a discussion about the rear wing, but he claims they didn't damage it... He also told me it is not me who should arrange his working order, after I complained about 7 weeks of doing nothing. This is a bad experience I'm not easily going to forget...
He thought it was very normal that "this sort of car" would stay there all winter! He even said he didn't like this work, cause it couldn't be done properly anyway. And he told me I'd have to repaint the car every five years anyway. I said I didn't care about repainting it every five years, but I did mind that it'd be in for a whole winter each time...
He's been really weird, cause my dad knows him for so many years, and he always did a good job on all the cars he repaired for people we know. When I said I had at least two (maybe three) other cars that need a complete paintjob, but that I won't ask him for after this, he said "I don't care about that, I'm not waiting for that kind of jobs"...
Good business man...

I've had similar bad experiences with body shops in the UK, hopefully this time i've found a good one (he's rung me several times asking me how I wanted stuff doing and was very honest and rang to tell me he broke the clips holding the spoiler on (still on back order ) picking it up on thrusday night !(minus a rear spoiler and front number plate ) CAN'T WAIT !!

******* body shops are the same the world over, it seems. Like Machine shops, it seems there are never enough of them around, and as such they are always backed up. It's always a great feeling when they have you over a barrel... NOT!

Its always like this: find yourself a decent paint shop, and stick with it. If you know the guys working there, you can always get a good job done

As for Belgium, I have heard only bad things for paint shops, machine shops, and generally car shops Its seems like the Belgian people dont know or dont care enough about cars

Yep, everywhere... They know enough about the stuff they do, but refuse to serve their customers right...
However, there are also good shops, you just have to be lucky...

Dude lol, i know what you mean....the point is..

Most of these guys treat their job as routine and after a while it gets so boring that they refuse to do anything that doesnt match up to the routine....like for instance spraying a car without deassembling it.

A word of advise....

The BEST prayshops arent sprayshops! The best sprayshops youl ever find are old guys who used to work in a bodyshop and loved it or guys who spray cars because they like to work on them and dont mind they extra cash...

Way back when i had my bike repainted by an old guy....i thought i prepped it perfect but he refused to paint it if he didnt get to prep it again so i let him reprep he sprayed it and it was absolutly perfect! The best part was the 100 euro i only had to pay for it! But bikes need less paint and scrubbing than cars...but nevertheless, take twice the work and paint so thats twice the price...who wouldnt want a perfect paintjob for 200euro??

lol well that might actually look cool the only problem is that it wouldnt be anywhere near legal....if heard cops whining about a friends chrome tinted windows because they might blind oncoming traffic

But then again...my friend just got a ticket because he left his car running outside the bank with the mistlights on....there is no mist so you can have em on...thatl be 30 euro please! Frickin' cops...cant they work for a living like the rest of us!

Yes they do....

scene:

You are driving to fast on the way to work....so hwp pulls you over for speeding!

purpose:

You might arrive to early at work and make illigal overhoures!

scene:

Your exhaust is to noisy so hwp pulls you over for making tomuch db

purpose:

Load exhausts scares piggys....dont you remember how load sounds used to scare you when you were little??? And now this hwp has to leave their post to run to mommy because the load sounds scared them!

YOU TERRIBLE PERSON!

scene:

You are a 20ish guy and driving a sporty car with non-stock mistlights so hwp pulls you over to give you a ticket!

purpose:

well obviously your a menace to society...young driver..sporty car AND FREAKIN MISTLIGHT TO TOP IT OFF!! Now you just went to far and the law is nothin to laugh at!!! These youngsters cause enough accidents...

damnit you speeding youngsters should take an example on senior citizens who are illigable to slam the brakes in the middle of the highway and stop to ask you for bloody directions!

Not to forget you youngsters need to take an example on the middleage class who have the highest rate of drunkdriving accidents overall!!

Damn you youngsters for having the lowest accident and drunkdriving rate!! And on top of that your driving a sporty car WITH MISTLIGHTS....omg you went way to far, they should take us out and shoot us!

I want to go 300km/h with my car one day, so get moving
