Anyone from the Netherlands?

So I am probably moving to the Netherlands in August for about 4 years. (the FD will be joining me) I cannot seem to find any information on auto regulations like emissions and such. I'd love to pick someones ear with knowledge of the land.

All rotaries are exempt from the yearly emissiontest, so the yearly test is only about safety.
I'm not sure the exact rules when you move the car with you, but I guess it will the same when importing a car, then the car needs to have a cat and airpump to be under the 0.9 Co during the (import) emissions test

After that it is party time :-)

What if the car is no longer a rotary? :-) Are cats a requirement?

cats's are always a requirement, they just don't measure the emissions. And who's to tell the difference between a cat or a center muffler :-)

I don't know how they will handle this situation, but if they decide to take a emissiontest you better have cat's
Exempt is only for rotary engines (including Rx-8 :-)

Fully warm car before the test and probably you can pass the test...

BTW if car is not rotary you have to be carefull in various place in Europe (like italy) if car is not engine stock (ok with aftermarket filter) you can't register it (and if car register office send you to the test you are fu...and and you have a big placeholder

Gotcha, I am heading to Brunssum for 4 years it looks like. The motor isn't stock but not crazy either. It looks stock and once I add cats would probably pass emissions anywhere but Cali.
