Hi I'm new to the rotary world and I just bought a 93 rx7 but I'm going to be using a single turbo set up but I'm now looking into ecu's so what's a better ecu for what I'm doing haltech or microtech also when buying a ecu what should I be looking for in a ecu basically I need it to be like stock so everything works and nothing is eliminated.
Also were is a good place or person to get the ecu's at.

haltech if you want everything to work. i had a microtech and while it is a good ecu, it just will not do what a haltech can do. and good luck if you want any customer service with a microtech, you'll have to send it to australia and wait for a few weeks if not months for it to come back.

haltech has customer service located here in the US of A. i had an issue with my ecu, sent it in, had back within 10 days.

Go with the Haltech PS1000 or PS2000 (depending on your wants/needs).

There are several Haltech dealers here on the forum. Personally I would buy one from Glenn (mazpower) as he's a personal friend of mine and a dsmned good guy to deal with. Also, depending on where you're physically located at he can/will do the full install and tune in his shop for a GREAT price!

Hi fendamonky thanks for telling me who sells the ecu's but if thats your rx7 under the post you did what kind of bumper do you have on that rx7 that is a nice bumper.

That is my car, it's a MazdaSpeed A-Spec bumper, they're rather rare here in the US (I'm only aware of 3-4 others). I picked mine up while stationed in the UK where they are a bit more common.

I sense a bit of sarcasm here, which is ironic because the suggested Haltech's are leaps and bounds ahead of the PFC..

I'm actually planning on trading up on my ECU this fall, I'll be getting rid of my PFC in favor of something that is significantly more capable. Initially I was thinking of going with a PS2000 since it's a damned good ECU that is cheaper than a Motec, comes with a harness lead, and you don't need to post extra for access to all the computers functions.

I ended up deciding on going with the Syvecs S8 ecu though, it's more expensive than the PS2000, and you need to make the complete harness (no easy flying lead kit) but the ecu is so sex imo, lol.

Not yet. Making the wife happy takes priority, which means I won't start focusing on the car (again) until after we can go "home" to Brazil for her.

I'll likely not be starting with the ecu until late winter. I've gotta rebuild my engine first (which will begin in mid-November, work drama dependent), once thats done and reinstalled I'll get the ecu in there and start on the wiring harness.

I'm sadly coming to terms with the fact that I *might* have the FD on the road again by DGRR, because money.

One really nice and underappreciated thing about the current generation Haltechs is that their datalog viewer software is really good. It's one of the best made viewers I've ever used. It's very quick to use and has an intuitive interface. Some tuning products don't even come with log viewers! You have to plot everything in Excel.
