Ems?
Ok this is going to make me sound like a Noob but in the real world what advantage would i get by using something like a Haltech PS1000 over a PFC?
I realise on paper the Haltech Simply blows the PFC away in nearly every respect but am looking for 440rwhp, i am going to be on 98 Fuel with WI and from what i understand the PFC will be more than happy at that power but i really want a new engine loom so by the time i have bought a new OE loom and a PFC the Haltech isn’t wildly more money.

Unless you're keeping the sequentials, I can't think of a reason to stay with the PFC. Even then, there are other ECUs that will run the sequentials. As you say, similar pricing and way more features. Will you use all the features and make it worthwhile? Maybe not today, but we do have people adding sensors and doing new things with outputs all the time. With the PFC you will pretty much box yourself in regarding present and future use. Drop me a PM if you have any specific questions.
