Counter to popular belief vented hoods are not nearly as essential to proper v-mount operation as some would have you believe (although I'm all for pictures of such things)

Proper ducting is essential, and even having a divider between the IC and rad make a bigger difference than a vented hood.

i would like to hear more discussion on this. i would love to not vent my hood if possible, but if its critical to the function of the vmount then thats something i would like to know.

would also be interested in what angle's people mounting the rad and intercooler, and why. example (intercooler more vertically mounted so the rad is flatter or vise versa)

Probably makes little difference, especially when drifting... But I would imagine the more vertical angle of the radiator, the better. But I'm sure the difference is only marginal.

Vmount is best because it allows for fresh air to hit the radiator.. You still have to worry about heat soak from the motor and engine bay..

So I think a combination of a vmount and vented hood is ideal because it addresses both the issues of an inefficient radiator/front mount ic setups and engine bay heat soak... Some hoods are better than others..

Shine panspeed style. Should line up with intercooler pretty good. I'll eventually find out. Keg was just completed yesterday.
